I agree with James and Boo.
I think MW will get sick of the Party Thrash thing for a while and will probably go into a more serious thrash direction to show they can still write mad-good songs without being quite so gimmicky.
The way I look at the MW fans is the same way I look at Trivium fans (except maybe on a much larger scale due to MW being 'proper thrash' in the first place) maybe 1 out of every 10 of them will get serious with their love of heavy metal and look beyond the Party Thrash thing, the others will die out (like the posers they are) and start listening to Snow Patrol or whatever. Either way, I will still be there and so will the others that live and breathe this shit.
MW are doing great things for thrash though, great things. I bet when we see Destruction or Exodus next there will be way more people there because of this new thrash resurgence.

I just think they're great and I love fun, much like our old friend Andrew WK. But yes, it will get old if they carry on doing the same thing, like anything. So hopefully their next album will be a concept album about how bad war is and how evil George Bush is.

Ironically, I'm getting a bit tired of over-the-top English accents with all these shit indie bands singing in their horrible regional twangs!

Whilst that part in particular is probably true, I don't think anyone's moaning about Waste specifically because they do party thrash (apart from maybe Donny, who obviously can't get women and must be very good at Tomb Raider), we're just discussing the fact that perhaps one day soon it might get old if they keep doing the same thing, which is true for any band of any genre. And I think the other point that some poeple are feeling is that there's more to thrash than just singing about beer and parties (DERE'S MORE TO IRELAND DAN DIS). But this is just one band, it doesn't really matter. They're so fucking good they can do whatever the hell they want really. Just as long as they stay good.

man, i was actually quite dissapointed with the art of partying.. i mean, before hazardous mutation i had never heard thrash played that way before.. (ok, stop giggling..) and i just loved them, its a perfect album i guess, but art of partying just droned on a bit too much.
and i think you're right about that trivium fan 'analogy' there are too many people being brought into thrash for the wrong reasons.. but then again you could argue that any reason is a good one as long as it brings thrash to peoples attention (but i'm more than likely wrong about that!!)
but yeah, i'd rather just carry on havin fun listenen to bands that stand for everythin that thrash should be about..which is.. well.. having fast and sexy fun?? lol and hey, i think the waste were onto a good thing when they took this to 'the extreme' so to speak, and that was fuckin' great in moderation, like on hazardous mutation.. but i guess people would easliy shun a whole albums worth of partying as a gimmick, but i don't think it's that they were trying to create the whole party thrash gimmick, they just didn't bother trying anything new on their latest album.. and thats what dissapointed me! (not saying its bad, just could be better.. and yes i know i sound lame
)
theyre still one of my favourite bands, and theyre still great guys even if they don't (or do) constantly have a beer in their hand
well it sounds like ryans pretty bored now so i'm hoping for some pretty cool stuff in the future

At the end of the day, The Art of Partying is a solid but not brilliant album and Hazardous Mutation was better. I don't think we need to worry about the Waste, I think the next album will be absolute quality. I certainly don't think their consistency (I mean in solid song-writing, not repetition) will drop.

Yes, I believe you are correct. Although lately I've been feeling more and more bored of Municipal Waste. Hazardous Mutation is nice, but it's not holding my interest that much anymore. And I don't feel compelled to buy The Art of Partying anymore. If I did, I'd probably just listen to Beer Pressure because it's brilliant because it rips off Iron Maiden (the key to being in a successful band it seems, at least in my eyes!). I still think they're a great band, but I hope they do something different, both musically and thematically, with their next album, because I can't be bothered otherwise.
