So far no one has admitted a liking for out and out brutal stuff. Hmmm interesting.

I've always thought brutal death metal to be a bit rich for my tastes. Give me old skool anyday... I also like 90's and more modern stuff like Vader, Deicide and all those crazy scandanavians like Entombed etc.. but anything too brutal leaves me confused.

Personally I think the hyper-blasting pig squealing metal doesn't have any claim to being "brutal".

Bands like Asphyx called themselves "brutal death metal" originally, and their morbid mix of slow heavy riffs, thrashy drum beats and tortured vocals are way more evil and BRUTAL than the modern trash.

I did like the brutal stuff back when I'd unquestioningly listen to anything that was Thrash or Death and claim that it was good. Now, however, I'm perfectly at ease having Level 42, t.A.T.u and Whitesnake next to Exodus and Invocator on my iPod but mainly like stuff with good singers.

Cryptopsy, Lost Soul, stuff like that is kool, really intense and constant head-kicking-in from the riffage and drums, good beans.

I much prefer old-skool shit tho, even 80s death/thrash is brutal as fuck /m/

Anyone ever heard Decrepit Birth? They're fucking toss, the production sounds so thin and crap yet they claim to be brutal.

It's difficult to know what you mean by "brutal" I like Nile,Cannibal Corpse and co,I'm looking forward to seeing Kataklysm and Aborted twice next week, but are they brutal?
I've got a cd by a band called Bound and Gagged "Fornicate the gutted" and the singer just sounds like he's wrestling with a pig.Unfortunately it just sounds a bit daft.

Did anyone mentioned ''Disgorge''?
Both US and MEX f'n kick ass!
I hate these scene-pig-squealers with their metalcore touch, old-school stuff like Morbid Angel, CC, Obituary, Ripping Corpse, etc. rapes HARDER!
Oh yeah who the hell ever states, that Death isn't really Death, deserves DEATH!
