On the other hand, I have very little sympathy for this woman, who's made around £50,000 selling her story about a baton bruising:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/sussex/8005390.stm

She was clearly mouthing off and pushing back, and she sustained no serious injury; as if "asking politely" would have achieved anything in that scenario. Mental.

Yeah, no sympathy for her. That's what I was talking about when I said I agree with police whacking protesters. You can blatently see her mouthing off at him before he even slapped her in the face. If you look at the way he struck her as well, it was just to get her out the way and then he tried to handle the other protesters, showing that it wasn't a personal attack like the push on that man was. The fact that she didn't learn her lesson and continued to mouth off warranted him taking his baton out, in my opinion. Plus she looks like a disgusting hippy and they deserve everything they get.

Agreed, especially as in that BBC interview she claims it was totally unprovoked and unreasonable.

I helped cost the police £7.5 million in expenses and all I got was this lousy kicking for fifty grand. FML

My mate was a copper, he said beating chavs ruled and was the main perk of the job. Don't see what the problem is here to be honest. Fuck crustys, fuck their lentil bakes, fuck their unique acoustic songs, fuck em fuck em fuck emmmmmm. If you want to help make a difference, study politics and join in the debate, don't crywank outside about it.

Studying Politics is a fucking daft idea. I got a degree in it and, if anything, it completely turned me against paying any attention to Politics. You do meet people who think they can change the world when you're studying Politics but most of them are complete gimps who trash buildings and then cry when they get their arses handed to them by the police. Generally speaking, the people I met at Uni who'll probably go on to be politicians were the ones who stood in elections for the Student Councils etc.

Fags.

But yeah, I have a degree in Politics and I think that actually makes me less qualified to talk about it because I've learned that it's all just a load of bollocks.

A bit like the beret-wearers on Ricky Gervais's Philosophy degree...

Probably...

I always ended up coming off as a Cartman-like figure in Politics tutorials. I'd generally be the outspoken one whose rhetoric basically amounted to 'It serves them right for being ragheads'. I actually had a nemesis in second year. He had a 'cut-here' tattoo around his wrist and thought that America was the source of all evil in the world. But yeah, shit like that completely turned me off politics, to the extent that I couldn't even be ringed voting in the 2007 Scottish-Parliamentary Election.

I don't vote. Who should I vote for?

I don't know anything apart from it's no longer Tony Blair and the BNP are racist.

You should vote for the Lib Dems. That way you won't be a filthy Liberal or a complete toff, like Sam. And the BNP have lots of sensible ideas, like withdrawing all British troops from foreign soil and redeploying them in the Channel Tunnel to hose down immigrants with machine-gun fire when possible.
