Far more fun to watch than be in the middle of at my age  . Still, this has NOTHING on the iron monkey gig me and ian went to at derby a few years back. Johnny and a guy from the crowd were actually rolling round the floor fighting and he was still ......erm..........singing!!!!

I hate this shit. I don't know about in the UK, but here pits like that are only ever about aggro dickheads having an excuse to punch someone for free. You can see their eyes darting about as they look for someone to smash. Assholes.

Napalm death was a bit like that recently. I remember a guy at a narcosis gig too who was really picking on this one, much smaller guy who wasnt in the pit but just wanted to watch the band, and i ended up having a bit of a word with him. Nob!!!

What's wrong with good old headbanging, that's what I say. Fuck that rubbish, fuck circle pits, fuck "walls of death".

I don't mind some of it as long as it is in good fun. But when they go out just to hurt people then they should get chucked out imo.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Last time I seriously headbanged was at an Amok gig the night before Full Thrash Assault. My neck was so fucked the next day I could barely move my head, let alone headbanging.

They are all idiots. I hate pits like that. What I hate most about them is that you don't get a fucking choice to just stand/sing/headbang/raise you fist to the air when all the cunts around you are kicking and punching everything in sight.

I especially hate it when people only pit to the songs they know. Priest's London show was runined by people going mad to songs like breaking the law. Cunts. Just cos that's the only song they know.

My mate headbutted someone at a Sabbath show cos they were being retarded. You DONT pit like a cunt to Sabbath!

I remember at the travesty that was Download Glasgow (2004), there were a bunch of people pitting to Iggy and the Stooges so my brother (18 stone rugby player) hit this guy (8 stone, MAX!) as hard as he could at the base of his spine. The cunt flew about 8 feet and didn't even put his hands out to break his fall because he was unconscious well before he hit the ground. He was out for about 4 minutes.

I've never been so proud of a sibling, or family member for that matter, as that day especially seeing as he ran away afterwards thinking the guy might be dead (the impact was pretty funny/brutal). I found my brother in the beer tent and the first thing he asked was 'Did I kill him?' I was pissing myself laughing like.

as exodus put it - good friendly violent fun! don't ever go out of your way to hurt someone at a gig (unless they do it first), as i expect you wouldn't want it happening to you!!!

Not a huge fan, because a lot of people in them are just silly.

If there's a caring, sharing pit, then count me in.

That would be a daring caring sharing granny-scaring (and possibly load-bearing) pit indeed.

pits at proper underground metal shows are usually good because everyones cool, picks up kids that fall over and arent out to hurt people.

I find the more popular the band is the ratio of hyper macho wankers rises.
