Like Hostel for example. I didn't watch it all the way through, but I watched enough to decide that I hated it. What utter bollocks. My friend keeps trying to convince me it's good. "When you get to the ending you realise what its about! Its about a guy getting revenge, yeah!" What, and that's supposed to be good? Rubbish.

Its superbly executed. I don't know what you were expecting it to deliver, but this just goes to prove that you HAVE missed the point.

If by 'gore-porn' you mean stuff like Hostel or Saw, I agree, that kind of stuff is very gay indeed.

Hostel is wicked. The Russian brunette at the start is amazing.

I like what it lead to, slasher films in general and i like that it was filmed on such a small budget. Other than that it was boring and not remotely scary or atmospheric.

I can't be bothered to argue about it though, it is only a film after all.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

I did actually really like the first Saw. I went in the cinema expecting it to be shit, but was pleasantly surprised, if only because of the nice twisty storyline. The acting was poor and it was a bit unnecessarily gory just for the sake of being shocking (but in that respect not as bad as its sequels, Saw 2 was okay but Saw 3 was bollocks), but it did have a good storyline. Well, good for that kind of film anyway. Much better than Hostel.

its between TCM and Day... for me, both classics. And on the modern stuff, yeah i liked the first saw but it went rapidly down hill in sequels but as many have said, better than Hostel

Off the list TCM defintally, although it's no where near my favorite horror.

tongue in cheek horror is the best, bad taste and braindead are awesome

Your well fit.

As for your comments, I'll also add Meet the Feebles to the Jackson list!
Possibly the most grim horror I have seen is Cannibal Holocaust & Ferox. Not much into full on vile horror, more into obscure cheese like 'Some Things Never Die' ! Oh and ANY werewolf film going!

Texas Chainsaw Massacre

The camera sound clips between every scene are so eerie, and the fact that it's a twist on a true story adds to the 'ive just pissed my pants' element.

Horrors these days rely far too much on sound effects to surprise and shock viewers, instead of involving storyline, and genuine 'fucking hell thats fucked' is lacking these days.

:(

Should chek out the August Underground series then, espically mordum if you want the "Thats fucked up but could be real" element. Killjoy of Necrophagia did some writing/acting/directing for it aswell.

Day of the dead obviously, but where is the omen on the list? Best UK horror film by about 10000000 miles.
