I wanted Croatia to win purely to wallow in the hilarity which will be the tabloids response tomorrow.

It'll be the same old Scotland next year Iain. Every team pushes above their weight occasionally in a campaign.

Ireland 2002
Wales, was it 2006? 2004?
Scotland and Northern Ireland this year.

England always push beneath their weight but always with delusions that they'll do better in the next game and improve to win the World Cup. The matches are usually dull and boring and the pashion of the players is limited at best.

But good lord - I'm glad I missed this match, it sounds like a total howler. Well at least it might give England a kick in the arse. I can't see that changing much though, just draft in a new manager, go through all the same hype then realise the national team just isn't a very good 'team'.

I was really annoyed whilst watching this, because I'd just finished work but now I've simmered down I'm glad they didn't get through because they deserve fuck all. England are fucking terrible, I think the squad should be executed by our government.

If me and my mate Chris were controlling the squad like we do on Fifa 2006, you can be sure we'd have been through ages ago.

That's so not true. England have a potentially World Cup-winning team. It;s always bemused me that such a good team on paper has never really amounted to anything.
