Lead Guitarist WANTED!

Postby Creeping_Dave on Mon Oct 09, 2006 12:43 pm

Hallowed Point are a thrash metal band based in Huddersfield and are currently seeking a Lead Guitarist to complete the 4 piece lineup.

We write our own material and have an E.P. already recorded (2 tracks on myspace!) and have done a number of gigs around the country.

We are looking for somebody who is highly committed to being in a band and willing to rehearse weekly in Huddersfield, we are a serious and ambitious band although do not take ourselves too seriously :P

Next year we plan to do lots of gigs and record a new demo or E.P.

Influences include: Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, Exodus, Anthrax, Xentrix, Annihilator, Dark Angel, etc. Loads more thrash bands and random influences too.

Get in touch if you are interested: PM me, contact us through the myspace page (in my sig) or email hallowedpoint@hotmail.co.uk

Serious candidates only please and no timewasters. Don't bother applying if you've only been playing a couple of months!
Gigging experience is preferable but not essential.

Cheers, we look forward to hearing from you!

*bump*

Probably a waste of time but worth a try!

EDIT: Our influences have changed since the original ad was placed but whatever, we still play/write thrash! :rockdevil:

Has your other guitarist that played a FTA gone?

Yep he left that day. He showed up late, drunk, and told us 5 minutes before we went on stage that he wanted to leave

To be honest we were glad to see the back of him, and sound a lot better without him. There's just fewer solos at the moment :P

I wouldn't have guessed that he was hungover.

Yeah apparently he stayed out at a club getting pissed all night until 6am.

Was he really that bad? Do tell me more hehe
I don't think I could hear his guitar on stage.

That's not what I meant, I honestly thought you guys had been preparing for the gig long and hard, so to speak.

At that point you didn't have a bassist, right? I mean, the only thing bad about HP's performance that day was that you were followed by Mutant. Mutant can basically blow anyone apart from Gama Bomb off the stage.

Oh right! haha, I thought you were being sarcastic oops.
Yeah we had been preparing hard for the gig, but only till about 2 or 3 weeks before FTA.. our guitarist pretty much refused to rehearse. I can't remember lol. It's in the past anyway :P

Yeah having Mutant on straight after us made us look crap  They totally slayed.
Maybe if we'd have had our bassist back then things would have been different though! But we'll just never know

Cool!

I hope you end up with the line up you want. Like I said, avoid opening for Mutant because there are very few bands that can match them.

Have you been bereft of a lead player since FTA last year?

Yeah me too! Yeah Mutant are a very good live band although it'd be better opening than being on after them :P

Indeed, we've not managed to find a replacement yet as it is proving rather more difficult than we'd anticipated to find someone who's good enough and committed enough to joining the band. It would seem most people round here just want to fuck about.

It's not so bad though as like I said we do have a very good bassist now and have been gigging a fair bit as a 3 piece, but we'll be far better with another guitarist as our songs have a lot of harmonies and twin guitar parts in which, obviously, can't be done with just one guitar! lol.

I'll do it. However, I must insist on full creative control and that the band name be changed to 'The Kelly Osbournes'.

The thought did occur to me about both actually. But they both live way too far away. Anyway isn't Jack a rhythm guitarist?

Also we kinda decided we shouldn't get somebody under 5'11" tall
