Downloading for n00Bs

Okay,bit of a nasty one to admit this,but,well,okay here goes.

"I have never downloaded anything before.I don't even know how to do it"

Right,now that's off my chest,where do I start? If I want to download something from,say Thrashmageddon.com do I need to get any software first?
What do I do?
Where infact do I start?

you need winrar and preferably an account with rapidshare to maximise downloading speed.

Ah don't worry about it, I've only ever downloaded one song and that was from Myspace. I don't do downloads tbh.

google winrar and download it

an account with rapidshare will cost a few pounds for a month (various deals are available) if you have paypal everything will be easy.

Yeh, once it's on your pc and you've got winrar, right click on the .rar file and choose "extract file" - enter the password if there is one, and bobs your mother's brother, you've got a folder full of .mp3 files.. shove em in your media player. CASHBACK!

Actually, whilst we're on this subject, is there a way to change .wav files to mp3... easily?

WAV to MP3 converters. Find one on google, then search it in torrents. Torrents normally come with keys to hack it, you see. As a lot of them cost.

Find something on thrashhshshsamargedoon then get the url go to it either click free download or get a premium account download as usual. Follow the on screen instructions. Can get winrar from http://www.download.com install that and right click the file and extract....
