On the subject of Machine Head, i actually quit writing for metal hammer because of machine head!!! I was given my first major review to do, (of "the more things change", one of those full page review / article thingys), and i was TOLD to make it a good review, as Roadrunner had made it a priority release, and had booked X amount of advertising in MH for it over the next few issues!!! As i knew i wasnt a big fan of the band, i said maybe they should give it to someone else, but got a load of abuse (bear in mind i wasnt being paid for writing for them!!). I did actually tell the reviews editor to (and i quote) "take your heavy metal version of smash hits and stick it up your arse"!!!! :D

Dude, as we say in the ghetto's of the North London Suburbs "Nuff respect". Thats a very big well done from me. =D>

Yay, way to stick it to the man and retain your own personal opinions and values in a journalistic sense. GOOD JOB!

I thought much the same. However, with all the anger I have now been well and truly put off buying the album. So well done Lyall. I think...

There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"

I still love Burn my Eyes and The More Things Change. I'll also admit that I used to love The Burning Red as well. Well that's changed now. I've tried the Blackening a few times. It's bloody wank. It's shit. I hate it. I hate Rob Flynn. He's a cunt.

But as I said, I still love the first 2... "Let freedom ring with a shot gun blast!"

Or "Lets all bum each other with fox's cocks!"
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

I've never heard a Machine Head song I thought was remotely enjoyable, and yes I've heard a lot of the supposedly essential Burn My Eyes.

i can honestly say that i enjoy Burn My Eyes, but i wouldn't ever listen to it of my own choosing. i can enjoy it when its being played to me but thats about it, i wouldn't ever bother to put it on the stereo, there is far far too much other great things.
