Following the rip-roaring success of this year’s event, Download Festival have announced that tickets for the 2008 event will be going on sale later this week.

A limited number of early bird tickets will go on sale from 9am this coming Friday (June 15). The event will take place from June 13-15 2008, reports GIGWise.


Festival director Stuart Galbraith has revealed that he has some high profile acts in mind for the 2008 rock bash in the shape of AC/DC, Muse and the Foo Fighters.

He told the NME: "I would have these three because they reflect the enormous breadth of rock music at Download," he said.

"We'd have Foo Fighters and Muse because they're cutting edge and I'd have AC/DC because they're absolutely classic and I've wanted them to play here for the last five years."


Muse can fuck off but I'd pay to see AC/DC and the Foos alone.

Download is a shit festival, but I'd pay anything (as long as I could afford it) to see AC/DC. Shitting crikey, next year could be the best year of my life.

Muse do have some good songs. Less poppy these days. Foo Fighters can fuck off though. Talk about bland, light, AOR, MOR clueless shit. Grohl should do some more Probot type stuff. So Foos can fuck off, Muse can be watched and to see 'DC would be a wicked.

Yeah, I used to quite enjoy the Foo Fighters until I saw them live at Reading Festival in the Iron Maiden year, they were boring as fuck. Very disappointing. And I downloaded their new album recently to find out that, surprise surprise, it was bloody boring. What a boring band, I don't like them anymore, although I will still listen to the acoustic CD of In Your Honour and enjoy some of that for a bit of going to sleep nice.

Muse were only good for the first 2 albums, Foos are WANK, and of course DC are just amazing!!!

Don't really have high hopes for the whole line up, but I may well go since last year was completely fucking amazing, with some great bands throwqn in amongst the shite, and it was just brilliantnessage
