What is the Metal Hammer coverage like?

Not seen one yet, Craig has got me a copy with the shirt. I just like to keep an eye on the competition!

Basic!
By Metal Hammer standards its not too bad. Very much style over substance though. Amusing attempts to pass off crap like Sanctity as a thrash band, too.
I killed Reanimator.

Well it's cool that MH are covering thrash, but agreed it is more or less a basic list of bands with no real substance. Not as good as the Terrorizer feature by any means.

MH Feature

Postby Phillybomb on Thu Jun 07, 2007 10:03 am

It's a large feature, 5 pages I think, nicely designed and a bit crowded because of all the copy there is. It's exactly what you'd expect: a nice, easy run-down of all the bands they see keeping the flame lit. Can't complain obviously, we're mega-chuffed with it! It doesn't go near identifying the NWOUKTM too much obviously, as the mag isn't 'scene' oriented anyway.Next stop - Kerrang!

We werent in it, but we got a big part in the Terrorizer one.

Hence, the Metal Hammer edition was shite in comparison.

The Hyades track on the C.D is Venom's Metal Black. The Tankard track sounds as if it has been re-recorded. From their forthcoming re-recorded tracks album mabye!?

Just to reiterate what everybody else has said, yes the MH coverage is basic and much more style over substance, But it is a decent length artical that gives a fair focus on some of the "new school" (hilarious idiots) UK bands, especially Evile who get the largest section of the piece of all the bands mentioned! Basically if this is what they have made to rival the Thrash Specials of Terrorizer from a couple of years ago... its basically completely hilarious shit. But as a nice piece of very positive publicity for us, and as a very brief intro to thrash "old school" and "new school" (my god they really are idiots!) yes its lovely. i'm sure the kids will love it...!

(by the way, i just got a copy of this months Terrorizer and i wanted to say well done to Ian for the great review of the Birmingham gig)
