Men behaving badly.
As for more recent programmes peep show is hilarious. I really don't get the office at all.

Ricky G is overrated, as is that fat Northern Bloke from Phoenix Nights. For a funny fat Northern Bloke look no further than Johnny Vegas, he is mint in Ideal, which is the best comedy of the last few years, even better than Green Wing!
See, you're older than a lot of guys on here eh? I've just inherited my big brother and dad's sense of humour really and basically learned English from Leonard Rossiter and Nigel Hawthorne. I love watching all the comedy gems on UKTV Gold that I'd never really seen before.

I'm not old enough to remember Porridge first time 'round I'll have you know!

Still, I'm way younger than you but I was reared on comedy from the '70s. Hell, I remember watching The Likely Lads when I was six or seven.

He was good till he moved to Channel 4. I still laugh thinking about badgers dancing to Supergrass though.

For me (in no particular order) it's
Peep Show - I like the way it's filmed and how you can hear what's going on in their heads
Black Books - just amazing
Red Dwarf. Smeghead. Enough said.
My Family has its moments, especially concerning Nick and the other son
Vicar of Dibley, probably cos Dawn French is just so fat and amusing
Only Fools and Horses
The Office, but only cos of Tim and Gareth, David Brent is boring
I'll probably think of more later, but British comedy is by far the best!

Unsure if this just means the UKTV channels or just UK TV in general so I'll go for the latter and hope for the best.
If not, just pick and choose out of the following:
Monty Python's Flying Circus
Blackadder
Fawlty Towers
Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
Red Dwarf
The Day Today
Brass Eye
Big Train
The Fast Show
Spaced
Black Books
Not the Nine O'Clock News
The Young Ones
Only Fools and Horses
Yes Minister/Prime Minister
Father Ted
Snuff Box
