Who should be the next President of the United States?

I don't know enough about either man's policies to pass judgment.

I am almost certain Obama will win however, for the race factor alone.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Obama isn't great, but McCain is a total asshole.

McCain because he is going to be the next US President. Feel free to resurrect this thread in November if he fucks it up but the Democrats have basically consigned themselves to defeat already by putting forward an African American and a woman as their candidates. McCain doesn't seem to get much exposure on BBC News but there is just no chance Obama is getting the red-neck vote. That and Hilary is such a popular choice among the Democrats that it could be tricky not to undermine Obama's campaign. If McCain does lose I think it'll be the Republican tag that thwarts him more than anything else.

Incidentally, is it just me or does Obama seem like the black President character you get in things like 24 or, if I remember correctly, Independence Day? I'm sure Morgan Freeman will have been US President at some point too. That'd prevent me from taking him seriously too.

Look what happened last time they gave an actor the job. I couldn't put up with countless hardcore bands writing songs with Freeman in the title.

He already was in Deep Impact, and he did a fantastic job thank you very much.

Regan was brilliant! Who else but him, and perhaps Charlton Heston (RIP), could have come out with the following to console the nation at the loss of the Challenger:

'They Slipped the Surly Bonds of Earth to Touch the Face of God.'

Classic!

He's always playing the President of the USA or God in his films. I can't keep up. I used to rate him when I still thought The Shawshank Redemption was the best film ever but have since seen sense.

Yes, that's why I want Obama to be the president.

Plus he isn't a continuation of Bush, which I believe McCain probably is.

As far as Republicans go, they could have done worse than McCain, but if I were American, i'd vote Democrat.

Something wrong with McCain that I hadn't thought of previously is that he's fucking ancient - 72 years old yesterday. If he manages a second term, he'll be bloody 80 by the time he goes. I don't think that's advisable really.

And who's the second person to have voted for McCain. So far it's a landslide in favour of Osama.

Welcome to Republican politics, they did the exact same to Kerry four years ago.
