Hmmm...not really sure what to think, it's alright but nothing incredible. I quite like the vocals at points but sometimes i think it sounds a bit meh. I'll wait till I hear more songs till I reach a final verdict. The riffs dont really rip my face off but Death Angel I feel have always been more melodically based than their peers and this song certainly has melodic elements. I like the guitar solo, it's tight and they have not gone straight down the new Exodus route of whammy the fuck out of some pinched harmonics and do a single run for every song.

Overall I'm not blown away or completely disgusted at what they are doing to the DA legacy...

Yeh, it doesn't hit me for six, but it's not bad. I actually think it sounds quite similar to a lot of their older, yet more average, stuff. I fear just another thrash titan limping back to make a quick buck...I hope some of the other tracks are a bit more SLAM! SLAM!

Saying that, a Forbidden/Death Angel show like what they iz doing in LA would be the best thing ever. EVER.

Sonic Beatdown was pretty cool, nothing incredible or very original but a solid track, good first impression for the new album....

much better than I remember anything off 'Act 3' or 'Art of Dying' being!!!

That is fucking rancid, even by Death Angel's standards.

not for me!! I know i have often harped on about thrash bands older stuff, but really, how could a band record such an awesome album as the ultra-violence (even with the dodgy production), then do nothing even nearly close ever again!!!!

I completely forgot this was up! Just listening now, ..... er, it's not really that good, the chorus is shit, the fast bits are cool. I hope there is better yet to come or I'm gonna be right dissapointed.

After hearing “The Art Of Dying” I had rather bad feelings about upcoming release and unfortunately “Sonic Beatdown” don’t dispel my doubts.
Mark Osegueda is the biggest disappointment. His vocals on The Ultraviolence were surprisingly surprising but after debut he lost greater part of his energy as a singer.

I gave it a listen through, in the words of Shania Twain - "That don't impress me much".
