Hello boys and girls, how are all your faces, full of joy perhaps, or perhaps not, who knows. I have made a lovely album for my year 3 independent project, it is a concept album based on George Orwell's 1984 in the style of wonderful epic (and slightly progressive and a bit folky every now and again) heavy metal. A bit like my band Firestorm, but better. Many of you might remember me ages ago posting a thread asking someone to do the artwork. James UK Man became the saviour of my life and did an amazing cover. Cheers, James. For all you boys and girls, I would very much enjoy for you to visit the websites below and listen to the album, if you wish you can download the whole thing for free, and all the cover art as well, just because I'm such a lovely guy.
But in all seriousness, I'd love it if you'd have a listen to it and let me know what you think. I hope you'll enjoy it, but if you don't, let me know too, I need to know what I'm doing wrong as well as what I'm doing right! Criticism is always just as useful (if not more so) than praise... unless you're Martin, that is.
Here are the websites for your listening pleasure. I already added some people on here to the myspace page so here you go again.

Pretty fun stuff there, not really my bag. But fun all the same, the album art is hilarious, not sure if that was the intention but oh well.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Wow, why is there a big gay Freddie Mercury head floating on the album art?
But anyway...
I'm going through the tracks right now. Inner Struggle is a kick arse song. Iron Maiden inspired by any chance? haha.
Fading Into Mist is catchy as fuck. I liked the drums in that one.
Thanks to MySpace, the Golden Country wouldn't load properly and I only heared a bit of it, and I couldn't be arsed downloading it because my computer is almost out of memory!
We are the Dead is a great song. I really liked that one. Mellow-Heavyness!
I'm impressed, I thought you were just the guy with funny avatar pictures!!
Good stuff.
Who else on this forum makes their own side project type stuff when not playing with a band?

My whole life is Iron Maiden inspired.

Many thanks indeed. It is a shame though that you can't download the title track from the site, that's the best one (if I may say so myself

Cheers for the kind words, all. So how many people here are 1984/general Orwell fans anyway? It is a book most unbelievable. Only Brave New World has the possibility of being better than it, I can't decide on that one though.

Ah yeh, 1984 is a dope book, yo. It's bleak, but anything like that really does fascinate me. When I saw V for Vendetta, I really couldn't help thinking it was a ripped off version of 1984...
Orwell was a genius.

It says you are a great chap!

Indeed, when I saw V For Vendetta I too thought of 1984! That's kind of why I liked it though, in a way it was basically a comic book version of it, which was cool. Not as good as a real serious bleak film of madness like Children of Men, which I thought was unbelievably amazing, but VFV was still good fun to watch, and had Agent Smith/Lord Elrond in it, who is the fucking dogs bollocks.

Just downloaded the album, bloody awesome production. The drums sound brilliant, nice and clear without being overly present and the guitars are the same.
As James has said, it sounds like something A Matter of Life and Death should have been. It sounds like a cross between War of The Worlds and a Maiden album from the late 80s or early 90s. But better than anything Blaze has ever produced!
I definitely agree that the title track is the best of the lot. Well fucking done!
