Design An Album Cover - Contest

Postby Holy Crap! Lions! on Fri Apr 13, 2007 3:50 am

I'm writing two prog 'solo' albums with lots of keyboards, ambience and soundscapes. If it sounds like anything, it'l be like Crimson II and Devin Townsend stuff, but with a romantic (the classical writing period not love stuff) feel to it. Very few vocal/drum tracks. Metal with Holst's 'The Planets'.

Once finished they will be recorded at House Of Light studios, Plymouth and released online for free and on CD for £1.

Anyway, the name of the project is ara, after the star. Lower case, because it looks better as a logo and because I don't want people thinking it's A.R.A. or some abreviated shit like that.

You guys can come in by helping me with the covers. I have to images for each album I plan to write. I want to keep the focus on the images so i'm just looking for a logo and placement of it. Feel free to design the logo, edit the images, cut them down, resize. Whatever you think works.

Unless you can think one up, leave album titles off the cover, as I plan to put them on the sides.

So here it goes. Make an album cover out of these!

Whoever posts or sends me the best one will be chosen for the CD cover. They will also be fully credited! :)

Remember these are just source images, its down to you to cut/size them to CD or LP format. The most comprehensive entry will get released on CD.

Rest assured, there WILL be some thrashy parts! :rockdevil:

Good Luck Guys!

Haha ok, there's another 19 or so to choose from that I have.

Anyways, that pictures nothing a little editing can fix.

 There's more to prog than time signatures, really...

This sounds like a real treat. I'm rubbish at arty things, but I'll say well done anyway. Actually, I think you should get Jamie on the case. He does wonders with MS Paint.

If this sounds anything like Gojira, I will just jizz all over it.

Gojira are without a doubt the most overrated band in the history of metal that aren't Strapping Young Lad.
