Catch 22 has been on my to read list for a number of years now.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

I haven't even heard of Wheatley? What sort of stuff is it?

Not heard of Dennis Wheatley!!!
He was a good friend of Aleister crowley, and he wrote a famous book on demonology called "The Devil And All His Works", he also wrote some historical reference books. He is best known however for his fictional works, especially black magic titles such as "the devil rides out", "to the devil a daughter", "the satanist" and "Gateway to hell". It is a fact that after reading the devil rides out, a guy from birmingham called terry "geezer" butler was inspired to write the lyrics for a song called Black Sabbath!!!! :rockdevil:

He was also the ONLY civilian member of the joint planning staff ever in the army (developing and implementing strategies etc during world war 2).

You really should check out some of these books!!!

He wrote it himself, too, which is not bad, since a lot of autobographies are actually ghostwritten. I read Chyna's and Lita's, and got about a chapter into Kurt Angle's, but those ones are only really worth it if you're into wrestling.

I just read an original 16th century manuscript. It was not fun, I couldn't even read his handwriting

I like sci-fi and horror books, but because of uni normally the last thing i want to look at is another book.

At the moment though i like reading Iiain M. Banks sci-fi novels, the best one ive read is one of the newest; The Algebraist (which has no Algebra in it by the way). But if youre gonna get one of his books, avoid Consider Phlebas, i thought it was crap.

I was half way through the John Peel biography, then I left it on a train. I love reading biographies. I nearly picked the Lemmy one up not too long ago. Maybe I will soon.

I need to get into reading more. I'm just never motivated enough to find a book to read.

I like my books nasty and bloody so at the moment I'm reading Body Rides by Richard Laymon.
Just ordered one called "Meg" from Amazon. It's about a 72ft long Megalodon (the ever so slightly larger ancestor of the Great White Shark) that decides swimming about in the deepest parts of the Mariana Trench is simply not exciting enough anymore so decides to pop up to the surface for a quick nibble on a person or twenty.
There's a big budget film being made of said book at this very moment.

Steve Alten is the author and Meg is the first part of a series. the other parts being The Trench and Primal Waters. The next part, Hell's Aquarium is out next year.
Probably to coincide with the film.

In that case I'll lend you my Bruce Lee biography. It's really good. It will give you a much better understanding of how amazing a man Bruce Lee actually was, much more than just a good martial artist. That was a good one.

At the moment I'm reading 'The Forever War' by Joe Haldeman, courtesy of Mr Caps over there. It's really really good! A sci-fi war sort of thing, where this bloke called William Mandella is telling the story from his point of view as he goes off to fight an interstellar war, and comes back to earth centuries later due to the madness of relativity. I'm nearly halfway through it and haven't reached the point where he returns to earth yet, but so far it's really good. The story hasn't developed too much, but it's written really nicely, it lures you in with the excitement of battle action and then turns it all around and reveals the brutality and madness of how it feels to really kill someone, even if it isn't human. Really good stuff!
