MERCILESS DEATH ENTERS THE STUDIO TO RECORD NEW ALBUM

Thrash metal purveyors MERCILESS DEATH are set to enter the studio this week to begin work on the highly anticipated follow up to their critically acclaimed debut album, Evil in the Night. Fans can expect more of their trademark blistering, hook-laden thrash metal that recalls SLAYER and EXODUS in their prime. Details regarding the album title and artwork are forthcoming.

In addition to the new album, MERCILESS DEATH are laying the ground work for another full US tour in March 2008. The band will also be making their first European appearance at the KEEP IT TRUE festival in Germany on April 4th 2008, to be followed by a full European tour.

MERCILESS DEATH sent shockwaves through the metal world in March with the release of their debut album Evil in the Night followed by their first US tour in August. With a new album slated for release in early 2008 all hell is bound to let loose as the undisputed kings of the American thrash metal revival continue keep heads banging!

I wonder if they'll find out how to play anything but open string generic riffs

...it was originally released in 2006

I'll build up high hopes for this album, like the press release is saying I should, just so I can complain when they release it :P I do hope it's good though!!!

whilst generic and repetitive i felt the record had enough energy to make it enjoyable.

So do I sir!

Don't get me wrong, I love what they've done, Ready To Kill is one of my fave modern thrash tracks, but I kinda expected more since these guys are supposed to be the forerunners of the thrash revival... Just thinking that the new album will be over-hyped and it could well be disappointing if they just stick to the same formula again!!!

WHAT??

I would advise whoever wrote that dribbling nonsense to find out what a 'hook' is before throwing around such a compliment on one of the blandest bands out there.

I have to say, I wasn't that impressed by Evil in the Night.

However, given the praise it's recieved from people here, I'ma give it another listen.
