UK Thrash Top 5 of 2009?

Postby STD_Caps on Wed Aug 12, 2009 2:16 pm

Just thinking, there have been lots of releases this year already and many have been great. Also, there are plenty more to come. I was thinking that regular posters should vote on what their favourites have been around december time. Anyone with more than 400 posts should say their top 3 and then the results could be compiled into a top 5. I don't mind having people's votes pmed to me if people want to keep them anonymous to avoid offence or questioning and i'll pm the results with indviduals votes to James for a grand declaration at the end of the year/the start of the next.

What do people think?

Releases I can think of this year (either here or due):
Mutant
Lifeless
Amok
Nebukadnezza
HOD
Visceral Attack
Gama Bomb
Evile
Warpath
Was Pitiful Reign this year?
Savage Messiah
Virus

I'm pretty sure there are plenty of others but these are the first that come to mind. Alternatively we could compile all the modern UK Thrash releases but I think the scope then gets a bit ridiculous.

We could also maybe do an international thrash one too...

I don't know about the best, but Nebukadnezza's is definitely the worst.

Actually, this is a good thread, it will remind me of all the releases that I need to catch up with this year! Must definitely get hold of Lifeless's CD soon.

Yeah, we should have an award - a trophy, or, at least, a certificate with at least two pieces of WordArt on it.

New EP should be out for Late October, a late entry we'll say!

Lots of releases still to go. December will be the cut off point, I think. Please, highlight any I seem to have forgotten. Such as Seregon. Sorry, me being a dopey dope-dope... Pitiful Reign and Warpath were both last year I have uncovered through research.

I have a review copy of Evile's latest, lets just say it is def in the top 5.

I am gonna go with:

H.O.D
Gama Bomb (yet to hear but live tracks sounded great)
Evile
Savage Messiah (little bits released so far sound amazing)
Mutant

Does anyone know what Let Em Burn are doing? anything new on the grapevine?
