nah, zep arent metal at all. they're much harder to properly get into than Sabbath which is why the n00bs on here (4th gayman) cant handle them ;)

Worst logic ever

and i used to "handle" them just fine

I disagree 100% and was about to post this before I noticed your post:

Remember how LZ have never played well live, ever?

I remember watching the DVD that sort of accompanied the How the West Was Won release from a few years back and just being struck at how shit they were live. I mean, blame the drugs if you like but many other bands' finest performances came whilst they were up to their eyes in coke and smack.

What on earth? Literally... what on earth? Never played well live? I can't believe it.

Do people on here really not like them, or are they just trying to look cool? How can you not like Zep? Quite seriously I think you people that put them down to the extent you do are either mad or lying.

You misunderstand me. I like LZ more than most but have never been impressed by their live shows. I quite like it when bands are capable of playing their songs live as well as they sound on record. Sure, not many bands do this but LZ just play random shit that doesn't represent their songs.

Aye, I'm in full agreement with you here. They're hailed as the best Rock band of all time but I can't think of a band whose live recordings are worse than LZ's.

i want to disagree with eveyone who seems to be making elitist, ill informed comments which i suspect are based on a backlash to the current media hype. However, you'll just come out with more.

This thread was meant for LZ recommendations but has inevitably turned into people saying 'dey r shit' to try and get fanbois' backs up

NO!

I actually loved LZ for so long. Even on the Remasters CD you could tell they were no good live though. I mean, if Bonham was too drunk to breath and the others coked up, it's not a surprise they were pants live.

Listen to his voice. Look at John Bonham. How the hell can you say that's not good?

anyone else heard the story about ian astbury from the cult? apparently he confirmed at a show a few days ago that they're supporting LZ on a tour next year. methinks that if it's true about the LZ tour, the cult will no longer be supporting!
