What you on about?
He doesn't have time to be all environmentalisty, he works at a bar nearly 24/7.

That's nothing to do with tree-hugging. He's just being bigheaded.
He goes round saying; "Were you in Cheers? - Yeah, didn't fucking think so."

I've never listened [not to be confused with heard: see White Men Can't Jump] to Black Metal. I don't think that matters though. Glam was perfectly acceptable in the 1980s; dressing like a killer whale has, however, never been acceptable. Well, apart from at the premier of Orca but let's not dwell on that film. I don't need to have heard any bands to make a sweeping generalisation about Black Metal because everyone who listens to Black Metal condones the burning of churches and is 12 [one for ribbons69, there].
Your comparison with 'Glam' is fundamentally flawed because people misapply the Glam label to bands that would fall more comfortably under the Hair Metal category. I'm sure plenty of people would be annoyed if you lumped Marc Bolan in with Robin Crosby. Me for one: Robin Crosby could actually play guitar for a start.
To cut a long story short: you have to be an angst-ridden teen to like Black Metal. If you like Black Metal, you should try having a brandy and watching Wimbledon to see that life doesn't revolve around gayness.
What an embarrassingly flimsy argument.

It was a joke, you fool! I thought that'd have become apparent from the outset what with the 'Button your word-hole for a minute, granddad!' remark. The reference to Orca was made for a similar reason. I'd been drinking McEwan's Champion whilst watching the football and felt that it had been a while since I posted something that would amuse me whilst I was UTT.
To be honest, I don't have a problem with Black Metal; I just laugh at people who try to make Kiss-style make up look tough by holding scythes...

Yeah, I think you'll find that most people are into it for the MUSIC though. It's not as if you go around wearing spandex and feathering your many coloured hair because you enjoy Glam, afterall...

Was that in Birmingham in 2001?
If so, I was there and Pantera pulled out because of that fucking Bin Laden Sep 11 bollocks happening. The one chance I had to see Pantera live and some terrorist prick ruined it. And yeah, Cradle were gay. They had a bunch of idiots on stage with stilts and shit. Wankers.
Also, you lot keep your shit Pantera hating opinions to yourselves!

Cradle suck. I use to be really dismissive of Black Metal because a lot that I heard I considered crap. Cradle, Dimmu, Old Man's Child and a plethora of bands I'm not sure of namewise. I heard some latter day Emperor and wasn't overly impressed. I also think I heard some early Darkthrone and the production more than anything made it too much to stand. What are some definitive albums that might fit my thrash/dm sympathies?
Oh, and BM is unquestionably more diverse (though possibly not superior) than glam.

You should check out F.O.A.D. by Darkthrone it's not as gr1m and kvlt as a lot of other BM, it sounds more like Venom plus it's got a bit of comedy factor as well
