Heaviest Riff You've Ever Heard

Postby GoreBastard on Wed Jan 30, 2008 2:32 am

Name the heaviest riffs you've ever heard!

The 1 riff that makes me re-wind it over and over again and want to punch someone in half is:

Around 1:35 in Vermin by Napalm Death. It's too fucking heavy!

fuck yes, that is one heavy song!!! Tbh most songs on that album are great. One of my favourite albums. Also the riff on blackstar's song blackstar is pretty immense.

I would say most by pestilence- especially Twisted Truth......

Morgoth's burnt Identity- took me a while to get into the vocals, but they are great!!!!

Demolition hammer- INFECTIOUS HOSPITAL WASTEEEEE....man that intro...

Heathen- Morbid Curiosity- nothing beats that, when I first heard it. I still remeber the feeling!!!!

Death- SYMBOLIC, and Chuck's vocals on that song :p

Also Suicide Machine- Death....love that intro

Obituary- Chopped in Half- specially John's vocal intro

Pentagram- Sign of the Wolf

Deliverance- Slay the Wicked...as my mate JT would say...the fuckin HOOKS in this song

one word BOLT THROWER (well 2 words!). Remember seeing them at edwards in birmingham and they were that heavy that they vibrated my internal organs into different places and my eyes stopped working!

Has to be the opening riff on Electric Wizard's Return Trip. I used it to kill my neigbour a few years ago.

Kataklysm - As I Slither

Actually there are a shit load of stupidly heavy riffs on Serenity In Fire but I will go with that one. Down's Bury Me In Smoke is tasty too and I always liked the main riff in GZR's Drive Boy Shooting.

It's heard...

Or did you put 'Heared' then edited your post to 'heard' and Lionboy was laughing at your original post?

Glad someone else digs that tune as much as I do, the intro fucking kills me every time.

Heaviest riff?

Err, For Whom The Bell Tolls is pretty heavy but I will go for A National Acrobat by Black Sabbath for this one.
