In The Sign Of Evil was ok... production/recording qualty totally lets it down... oh, and the fact that they cant play the songs properly...
Obsessed By Cruelty, well that's a load shit really! both versions are TERRIBLE sounding, playing is no better too... The songs might be good if they werent so fucking poorly played/recorded...
Persecution Mania, nice production, riffs are played properly, you can kinda hear the words too!!! also song writing is much improved, but there isnt much variation through the album as a whole...
basically, Sodom could have been amazing
German Thrash
Moderators: James, Craig, Resilience Records
Oh fuck off!
You fucking wimp, those are the best Sodom releases of the lot!
I bet your one of those types who thinks Death's best stuff was later!? Haha

EY, screw you man!!!! SBG & Leprosy the way! I don't really like the 'modern' sound so much on thrash or death metal, I just like it to sound fat and noisy

Don't get me wrong, I love dirty production, I quite enjoy the first 2 Sodom releases aswell, but the production and playing is actually shit!!!!

Meh, same with Hellhammer.
Yeah on a technical level the playing is shit, but its the same with Mayhem's Deathcrush album, the aforementioned Hellhammer, N.M.E. (not the magazine), early Necrophagia, demo-era Death/Mantas, shoddy playing but amazing stuff because it brims with atmosphere and passion!

The later Death albums are much better than the early stuff, Symbolic and The Sound of Perseverance are prog metal masterpieces.
The 80's/early 90's stuff is still brilliant though, Leprosy is such a sexy album.

Hmm, prefer the demo material (well the demo material I have/heard) and Scream Bloody Gore. I prefer that echoy evil atmosphere over technical stuff.
But I'm not going to debate about this as its just a matter of personal taste. I will agree the latter stuff is technically proficient but on a personal level it doesn't really interest me and no amount of debate is going to change that. As they say, 'Opinions are like assholes'. This doesn't mean I am anti-technicality, I just prefer the earlier stuff before it went technical.

Yeah man!
I just don't really think the early stuff was up to that much though, up until 86!
Death's best demo was Leprosy
