New Alice in Chains Track...

Postby Seregon-James on Thu Jul 02, 2009 5:14 pm

I think it sounds awesome, got Alice written all over *duhhh* and as such Jarry Cantrell sounds like his vocals are higher in the mix then Duvall's anyway. But Duvall does a great job and well yeah, it sounds like Alice in Chains.

Thoughts?

Sounds awesome, I like it alot!

People complain that the new singer isn't as good as Staley, but at least he's not a fucking dead smack head, so he's got the upper hand on that one....

True, hes not a dead smackhed, but without Layne Staley its just not Alice in Chains. You wouldn't have fucking Slayer without Tom Araya would you?

I like it. Not sure why they needed a new singer anyway, as Cantrell's more than capable. But I'll go and see them in October over here anyway. Haven't seen them for a long time.

Aye listening again now actaully, it's AIC through adn through, missing that Layneness but Duvall puts in a good effort!

Good effort, but not Staley.

True true. I'm not slagging Staley off or anything, I'm just taking the piss. He was a fucking beast of a singer.

Decent song, goes on three minutes too long.

I've been listening to the new album on Spotify, and it's pretty bloody good actually. Never really been massively into Alice Into Chains, always enjoyed them but never tried to get into them. So I don't know how this compares to their old stuff, but it's enjoyable indeed.

The whole album's good. And don't forget Cantrell wrote most of the songs and sang half of them even with Staley in the band. I was a fan since their first album and yeah, the new one might have been slightly better had Staley still been alive, but it's damn close. Saw them a couple of times before they split and I'll still continue to see them now.
