Sekhmet Update

Postby Holy Crap! Lions! on Sun Oct 11, 2009 11:18 pm

Hi all, bit of a big update for Sekhmet and the announcing of the new members properly.

Hi everyone, please welcome our new members!

It's been an insane few months for Sekhmet. Back in February Adam McKay rejoined and the band and prepared to get back into gigging and start writing new material. You may have heard about it on interview with Adam in one of the early UK Thrash Podcasts.

A few months into this, drummer Dave Parsons and guitarist Mikey Precious decided to leave the band, leaving Rohan and Adam, living in Cornwall with the task of finding new members.

We decided to relocate to Plymouth due to it's proximity and larger size than Exeter. There we held several auditions and decided on Adam Robertshaw, or 'Myrk' to fill the position of drummer. We were impressed by his unique quad pedal skills, the guy is a prodigious writer and an excellent addition to the band!

He recommended to us a local guitarist called Tom Rimmington (we just call him Rimmy). After holding a bunch of auditions around the South West we were having trouble finding someone with whom we felt chemistry. We found it in abundance with Rimmy, the guy is an incredible player and a dream to work with.

We've been writing and practising constantly and will be booking gigs for around December and the new year. Expect to see us soon.

Our hearts go out to Evile and the family of Mike Alexander. RIP, you will be missed.

See you on stage guys,
Ad

Looks like I managed to put the wrong youtube link in there. A South American band we are not. The backing track is an internal demo if anyone was wondering.

Sounds good, I imagine the music will be sounding a lot different with the line-up changes.

Yeah, the only guy who wrote anything on the mini album is Rohan.

We're really eager to getting the new stuff out and start gigging.
