AC/DC
I rarely see talk of the mighty AC/DC on this forum so I thought I'd bring them up, as Moneytalks has just come on my iTunes. How many people here enjoy the power of this fine band? I find that seeing as most of their songs are all very, very similar, I'm not always in the mood to listen to them and sometimes it becomes a bit boring, but when I'm in the right mood for them, they can be the best band in the world and make me feel so great and joyful. Such great fun and power and rock, if I ever get the chance to see them live I'm going to shit myself. For Those About To Rock is one of the greatest pure rock albums of the universe.

If you look at the "What T-shirt"? thread you'll read that I'm wearing my AC/DC shirt from the secret-ish Hammersmith gig back in '03 (Christ is that almost 4 years ago now?!!).
AC/DC were the band that got me into rock and metal in the first place. A mate played me Live Wire and TNT back in 1984. They were the first two tracks I'd ever heard from such a band and from then on was completely hooked.
The shame of it is I've only seen them three times
(Blow Up Your Video, Ballbreaker and Hammersmith) but only mainly because of calendar clashes and of course the more obvious reason - four or five year bloody gaps in their English touring schedules!
Oh, and if you want to fill the void of another year without a DC album then get yer ears around Running Wild, the debut album by Aussie band Airbourne. Seriously, you won't be disappointed. It's the album that AC/DC should have made.

Nowt wrong with BIB. It's a chuffing classic. My two favourite albums are Highway to Hell and Back in Black. The end of one era and the beginning of another.

Or just listen to Running Wild - Under Jolly Roger and sing along!

For Those About To Rock was what first got me into metal, before that I was a skater punk
, i reckon my fave song has got to be Night of the Long Knives or T.N.T.

As some one else has said,AC/DC were one of the main reasons I got into metal. Two tracks in the early 80's did it for me,"Rock and Roll ain't noise pollution" from Back in Black, along with "Run to the hills" by some band from London.Only saw AC/DC the once,at Donington back in 1984,but always been a big fan.
If anyone reading this thread hasn't got Back in Black, they should go and get it RIGHT NOW!

LET ME PUT MY LOVE INTO YOU BABE!
That song and the BIB album generally is brilliant. It's one album that definitely does deserve its popularity. What Do You Do For Money Honey has definitely got to be my favourite track on that album, it makes me want to rock like a fucking motherfucker. HOOOOOOONNETYY"Y!"!!! QWHTA DO YOU DO FOR MONEEEEY"EY"YEY!!"!!£"!£$ Bloody am,azing.
That one and For Those About To Rock are my faves indeed. Snowballed and Spellbound I find wonderfully brilliant, and the title track sends shivers down my spine every time I listen to it. I remember when I bought that album (for the second time, the first copy was trapped in my first car that kind of melted inside and became a write-off when I bumped it into a ticket machine at no more than 5mph - that's the power of AC/DC for you!), I was on a train during my interrailing European travels and I listened to that song about 3 times in a row because I couldn't bloody believe how good it was. There certainly is nothing like a good AC/DC rocking session.

yeah they rule, when i saw them at the Wembley (or london) arena
cant quite remember which, they were the loudest band id ever
seen. Seriously loud! And also they had the longest endings to songs
out of anyone ever.

I would love to see them live, and I love it when I hear their songs in a club or a party or whatever, but I never sit down and say 'I'm going to put some AC/DC on'
Saying that, I may put some on now. Great band, but easy to overplay in my opinion.

Very true, i have to be in a special mood for AC/DC and they don't come along too often.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.
Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...
