World Cup Thread

Postby James on Sun Jun 13, 2010 11:04 pm

Might as well have a general World Cup thread...

The USA game was pretty gash, but by the looks of Slovenia and Algeria today we HAVE to get wins in the next two games.... don't we?! I'm not super bothered how we do in the tournament, in fact the amount of hype and frenzied flag-buying kind of makes it funny when things go wrong... but I do hope we have a good tournament.

I laughed at this horn related cartoon:

I've pinned all my hopes this time round.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

Those horns are so annoying, like a swarm of angry bees...just a continous white noise.

Perhaps i can bring my stack and flying vee to the next game and make a racket too.

I'm supporting whichever out of Algeria and Slovenia can beat the US and stop them qualifying.

First match against Brazil tonight, should be an entertaining start to their tournament.

Sick goal by Brazil!

In one of my 6-a-side leagues we're doing a World Cup tournament, we played our first match tonight and I got 2 goals in a 3-1 win against 'Portugal' (we're Argentina!).

Sick goal by North Korea, I thought. The first Brazil one was such a fluke, amazing but it looked more like a 'fuck it I'll have a pop' shot than a planned one. The Koreans had some brilliant runs in the first half at least, so it was only fair one of them payed off in the end. That bald striker should have stuck to passing instead of shooting though, he was amazing at getting the ball past people but he couldn't kick it for shit.

God, I've never cared so much about football in my life.

Let's wait until they've played another game before we start bumming the Germans.
