Any religion that claims that aliens are the cause of anger are fucked in my book. Will watch the videos when i am not pissed.
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

I'll watch the videos tomorrow as a way of avoiding doing my silly write-up about my film music assignments.

But I'll say now that the South Park episode about Scientology is absolutely amazing. "Oh m'god!"

I hate Scientology but the guy with the cam is a fucking prick, he needs to get some solid arguments and find a different way to attack that bullshit religion. Not just have petty squabbles with people who are just trying to enjoy themselves, he isn't thinking about the big picture.

I'll agree there, just pointing a camera in peoples faces at their own event is bound to ruffle feathers, but the videos nonetheless reveal the absurd mindset of the religion's typical followers.

Are you kidding? Did you watch the videos? Do these people seem capable of having a rational discussion? Again and again he raises issues, like the murder of Lisa McPherson, to only be met with mockery and insult. These people will not debate, they only bullbait. It's how they're trained to deal with questions. Mark Bunker (the guy with the cam) is doing the only thing he can do against people who refuse to debate: he's filming their insanity and distributing it through the internet. It's thanks to his efforts that anti-Scientology sentiment is as well distributed across the net as it currently is.

Remember that the Church of Scientology is bathed in secrecy. We're not supposed to know that OT levels and e-meters exist. We're not supposed to know about Xenu and the thetans. We're not supposed to know how much they charge for their OT upgrades, or how they have sometimes violently harassed those who attempted to leave the cult. Mark Bunker does the best with what he's got.

Scientology holds a large amount of money and influence as a minor religion thanks to it's wide-spread celebrity base and brainwashing techniques. The only way to fight it is to expose it.

That guy with the "limp" is so fucking funny. HEYYY MAN YOU'RE A PREJUDICED.

In Scientology doctrine, Xenu (also Xemu), pronounced /'zi.nu/, was the dictator of the "Galactic Confederacy" who, 75 million years ago, brought billions of aliens to Earth in DC-8-like spacecraft, stacked them around volcanoes and blew them up with hydrogen bombs. Their souls then clustered together and stuck to the bodies of the living, and continue to wreak chaos and havoc today.

End of story.

Wasn't scientology originally based on a made-up religion from a book??

I might watch the videos...

Hostile, I just would have asked the questions better, organized a meeting with a Scientologist (no matter how hard it is to get one) and made sure that by the end of our meeting they were speechless because they couldn't come up with an answer.

What I wouldn't have done was walk into one of their festivals with a camera dissing their precious religion, ok it produced some funny footage but that is a crap way to try and get answers out of people. Its rubbish journalism, I learned nothing from that footage apart from what I already know about organized religion.

Oh yeah, like they are going to go, "Ok lets really talk about what happened in that hotel room" no way. If you conducted an interview (even on the street with a calm member of their church, asking nicely with respect) with some serious questions then you would stand a way better chance of finding some answers. Not just by running round pissing off families.

Surely thats obvious?

It was invented by L. Ron Hubbard, who was a science-fiction writer (I didn't just learn this from South Park, I did a bit of Wikipedia reading afterwards  ). The thing I don't get is that apparently it's on record the Hubbard openly said the best way to make money is to start your own religion. Surely that's all the evidence you need that Scientology is a load of bullshit?
