The leet words 'pwnzor' and 'pwnxor' can be edited to say "pwnzor'd" or "pwnxor'd"

Humorous.

Yeah its pretty horrible, all those years of school to just piss all the knowledge away on a WOW language that you cant even use in the real world.

I've become really intolerant of bad grammar in the past couple of years. I'm used to sitting in classes trying to speak Estonian or Russian and being constantly corrected, so it's kind of rubbed off on me. I correct my mum all the time, she fucking hates it.

So when I hear someone using the word 'owned', or worse still 'pwned', in public I really have to bite my tongue.

It wasn't 'invented'

It's the product of several thousand people trying to type whilst playing an online computer game, the first time I heard anything 1337 was on CounterStrike, waaaaaaaaaaay years ago! It came about because if you're playing a game, it's kinda hard to spend ages writing and perfecting grammer, so abbreviations were made, sometimes wrong keys were hit (ie - owned becomes pwned..), etc... and that's all I can be arsed to type without sounding like more of a nerd!!! It's not my fault btw, loads of my friends have been computer geeks for years... :D

That's why I love this forum, everyone speaks properly (even Jamie... some of you should visit the Metalbrew forum some time and see what he's really like...), and there aren't any idiots. It's great!
