Without wanting to open the "to download or not to download" argument again, what do you think of "Killing Peace"?

From what I've heard, it sounded awesome, some parts are a little repetitive (not too badly though!), but it's heavy and fast, and it sounds lovely!!!

From the 2 or 3 full tracks I've heard, I'm not that impressed - quite a few sub-par or too modern riffs for my taste, and the production sounds generic Sneap rather than interesting or unique.

It's alright, better than I'd expected. It's perhaps just a little too close to Exodus' sound right now.

This is my initial response from the fragments I've heard. I'm sure it's a pretty solid return to form, but I'm not planning to buy it.

I think it's excellent. A definite buy when it's officially released.

Think its a good solid album with some nice production regardless weather or not its typical sneap. I think however there is better out there, such as all the UK thrash bands at the moment who given the chance to record with sneap could produce better!

The two tracks I've heard (I can't download, so...) sound awesome. Yeah, comparable to modern Exodus but that's no bad thing and there is enough of a difference. Quality effort. Will definitely buy.

great band love there other studio lp's and they kick hole live but i don't see any connection between the force ISOS and this album.
its not a bad album at all but The riffs and style are completely different from the onslaught we know. sly vox are now briefed of high bits and the lyrics and riffs are so so compered to the past. same problem with the last exodus album. to much sneep not enough clasic onslaught.

i dont understand why theres so many negative comments.... yes the riffs do sometimes repeat themselves quite a bit but its obvious a lot of thought has gone into the album and after a few listens you can tell onslaught are thrash veterans. sy has got a more brutal voice on this one and makes me think maybe they were heading to where slayer left off after south of heaven.

in my opinion onslaught have come back just at the right time to set a good example for lots of upcoming thrash bands. fav track here has to be killing peace and twisted jesus! :rockdevil:

To be honest, i dont think that the style has changed that much if you compare riffs. The opening riffs to power from hell and killing peace (tracks) are not dissimilar in style!! The quality of the playing has improved, but the essesnse of onslaughts sound has remained constant, the only real exception being the unreleased lp from 1991, that was probably the most radical departure from the sharp cutting riff style the band have always implemented.
As a major 'slaught fan for over 20 years, i did have my concerns about the band choosing snaep as a producer and i aired my concerns of their forum a year ago, but while it has got quite a contempory thrash sound, it could have been much worse, and have a nu-metal vibe which was my main concern, but i think the end result is about 8/10 production wise.
