That was my point.

Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

You're not a geek, yet you, by your own admission, are interested in military history...

You read books about military history. If you are as interested in art and fish recipes as you are military history, then you probably read books about art and fish recipes. I might be missing something here, but how does that make you anything other than a geek?

I'm sorry i can't even be bothered with this back and forth any more, go get your internet testosterone boots off a 15 year old's car customisation website or something.

No, reading books about art, military history and fish recipes makes you a geek. Similarly, anyone who read the Lord of the Rings books before the films came out is also a geek. I can understand why someone who had seen and enjoyed the Lord of the Rings films may want to entertain some kind of morbid curiosity and actually try to read the books. In my experience, however, only fags, geeks and students have read the Lord of the Rings books before having actually seen the films.

I really can't see why you're having such a hard time admitting that you're a complete and utter geek. Most of the people who post on UK Thrash will have admitted that to themselves long before posting on here in the first place.

I think it's a fairly well established fact that you don't need to say much to get into an argument with me on here. Don't flatter yourself, William. I'm not the one who is saying 'I can't even be bothered with this back and forth any more' and then posting within 60 seconds of me replying to your post.

The hobbit will be sexy, as it's another trilogy, so they can fit all the book in. Lovely, splendid, superb.

Not from what I've read... There will be two films, the first film being The Hobbit, and the second film being a story in between The Hobbit and LOTR that they're going to make up, using bits from the Appendices and all that. That's what was officially announced ages ago, unless they've changed plans since then...

And yes indeed, back to back LOTR marathon is wonderful. Although about halfway through the second film, everything just becomes completely hilarious. But I love it. I read the books after the films, and loved them too.

This band Sauron seem pretty good, by the way.

I was going through this last night with Si. Cos im pretty much a nerd on Tolkein books. The stuff that should happen in this will be top stuff. But... they will probably have to leave some vital parts out because a lot of its documented in other books they dont own the rights too.

Theres a good story for the Dwarves after The Hobbit. Dwarves and Orcs went to war and Thror was killed by an Orc called Azog. Thrain left Moria to return to lonely mountain. But he was captured and taken too Dol Gulder andthe ring was taken from him. Gandalf went into Dol Gulder and sees Thrain die and Sauron is in possesion of the ring he had.

God if they did that theres loads of good stuff they cant put in the film unless they get the rights to Unfinished Tales.
