WAHEY!!! A whole new bunch of people who are falling into the trap set by mutley and crew, as it has always been

Seriously, the MACC LADS are fucking brilliant when singing offensive songs about drinking, eating chips, shagging mingers, wanking and catching VD, but when they cross the line into racial territory, it doesnt have the same resonance with me. That is just my opinion, but the next man may find "julie the schoolie" offensive for what is effectively a song about paedophilia, yet i have been laffing to that song for over 20 years!! I have the original 2 on 1 CD of the first 2 albums, and the bonus track on there is called "Feed your face" which is a parody of feed the world (band aid), and I fand it totally offensive and unfunny, yet i believe it was done for shock value, much in the same way as this probably was. Seriously, even those who were offended by this song, must still search out such classics as "blackpool", "now he's a poof" and "dans underpants".

Also, they will always be revered for actually starting their own label to release all this smut and stuff with a weekly government grant, which after the authorities became aware of the musical content, they made them pay it all back

Funny is funny. That wasn't funny. I think it was meant to be humourous but only in a really shitty bigoted way. Bernard Manning was never funny and the Macc Lads may be less extreme but it's the same shitty stuff.

Also, there is a BIG difference between Media hyper-sensitivity over a little English girl going missing and a war that's killed thousands of people including well over a hundred British soldiers. On the whole, I have felt sorry for the army folks in Iraq for all the shit they have had to put up with and I blame their fuck ups far more on the cunts that sent them there. However, when they start finding songs like this as morale boosters I lose some of my sympathy.

And don't tell me lighten up. Grow up. This sort of prejudice is immature and should not be encouraged. I'm with Reanimator Luke on this one.

Isn't selective quoting annoying. Irrespective of when it was written - it was dumb then and is dumb now - it is being used as some sort of British troops anthem. I say this because of the posts under the video. I'll be honest, I didn't know it was an old song. It should have stayed in the past.

Taking the piss out of things is fine as long as it's not racial? I don't really follow that one.

You can laugh at silly songs written by obvious morons without agreeing with what they say. A racist will be a racist whether they hear the Macc Lads or not.

To clarify, I don't agree with the views on that video but shitting hell people, grow a thicker skin.

What a stupid thing to say. Surely part of the brilliance of humour is that it's 100% subjective and very seldom will two people find the same things funny across a wide range of subjects?

Which girl?

I've not been following the news as of late, but I'm only aware of the Madeleine McCann thing being prevalent on the BBC News website.

Why do you feel sorry for the soldiers? It's what they fucking signed up for. You can't expect them to sign up for the army, be trained to kill and even lay down their lives if necessary and then not be expected to do just that when push comes to shove. It doesn't matter if some people think the War In Iraq lacks legitimacy, soldiers have a job to do and they should do it unquestioningly because it isn't there place to do so; they're soldiers, not politicians.

In what way is it immature? I find it quite mature that some people can find the line between what is and is not acceptable to laugh at when it comes to sensitive issues. If anything, it's immature to have to deal with this sort of thing in black and white.

Aye, I can't stand it when people (usually chicks) get needlessly offended about this kind of thing.

And am I the only one that is perfectly happy with mocking races? I don't find making fun of ethnicity particularly racist as long as it's applied with an even hand. In my opinion, if it's kosher to mock someone for having ginger hair or a lisp, then it's OK to mock people for their ethnicity.

It's perfectly fine to mock anything and anyone about anything ever. Along as you can accept it back and laugh about it.

^rationally that seems perfectly reasonable, however, race is a more sensitive issue because prejudices have lead to discrimination, abuse and death.

Bah!

You have to bring up history if you stick to this logic and that's rarely a good idea.

it's only more sensitive because people have chosen it to be in this day and age, I have no problem whatsoever with any ethnicity, in fact I couldn't care less that people have a different skin colour, I would rather society didn't make such segregations happen, then everyone could take the piss out of everyone all the time and no arguements would happen!!!!!!

Also, I don't see how it's so bad to make a JOKE about something, that you find funny! Joking about race hasn't got anything to do with being prejudice towards a person, in fact it's pretty much the opposite - taking the piss out of prejudiced views if anything!!!!

That is pretty funny...

Now, I'm not offended by the song per se, although I do think its purile and stupid. But I am of the opinion that in a society where racism, sexism and ignorance are rife there's no need for a band to be celebrating these, which is what these guys are doing. I can't see the difference between this and the sort of rubbish I hear being shouted by all the tracksuit wearing thickheads who populate the estate where I live and hold similar attitudes, and revel in their own stupidity.

They're also crap and have got by for years peddling sub-par pub rock by marrying it up with 'shocking' songs about what its like to live life as a twat. With the music I listen to you see this with a lot of grind bands where they lack talent or originality and so just get by on being 'hilariously offensive' to disguise the fact that they're bringing nothing to the music scene but dross.
I killed Reanimator.
