after quitting my job at dixons tax free in gatwick north terminal after 6and a half years yesterday morning,i wondered if anyone else on here has walked out/quit/told them where to stick it etc OR what was the sittiest job you ever had?
mine was for 1 and a half weeks at a local wannabe harrods, called collingwoods a crap overpriced department store run by an old hag(mrs.collingwood).there were mainly old scraggy bitches and her sons in suits working there.it was a pretencious, tryna be posh,up its own arse kinda place.
she wouldnt let me have the fan on although i was sweating like a peado in a playground.
she said i was wasting her electricity,to be fair she was actually jewish though.)
so that was enough for me to say cheerio there and then(because of a fucking fan!)
most old people dont feel the heat, even when the sun is out on a red hot day they still fuckin wrap up from head to toe.
so i went home and chilled in the garden in my shorts.
its great not working as im sure most of you will agree.

Re: jobs
I had to quit my job last year because the boss I had would only put the rota up the day before the next week began, so obviously, if she had made any changes to my usual rota I wouldn't know about it and I'd get a phone call in the morning going "WAAA WHERE THE FUCKING HELL ARE YOU, THIS IS A LOAD OF FUCKING SHIT YOU'RE A NOB!!!!". I was quite polite about leaving though, because I needed the reference.

there was a bit on one of the 3 bill bailey dvds about the nightmares of argos.
just like when lee evans rips on dixons/currys staff and warranties etc.
my mate refuses to watch anymore al murray for calling forklift drivers chimps

even though he found the rest of it funny up until that point.
my mate is a 6ft 1,big,hairy,going bald forklift driver though so these comedians are generally spot on.
i think if you cant take a joke bout your jobplace then thats a shame.

Why did you quit at Gaywiks Rik?
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thats pretty much how the ASDA I work nights at is and because I'm on a flexi contract a lot of the time I'm not even in when the new rota gets put up. But I just used that to my advantage and even though I get put in every saturday & sunday night, if the rota isn't done before I'm last in that week I just wont come in for the saturday & say that I didn't know because the rota wasn't done. Shows how bad the management is when they don't really do anything about the not coming in, maybe put me in another day during the week.

Re: jobs
All my jobs have been pretty cool. Worst I suppose was call centre work. It would have been rubbish anywhere else, but the people there made it cool. I now work in a marketing company doing data entry on the days I'm not at uni, the pays good, the people are fucking wickid, and the hours are good as well. Used to be a pizza delivery boy, but that was only to get experience on 2 wheels, as I couldn't afford a 125, it was pretty fun, used to get some mad tips, but also jacked a few times, Once I got my full bike license I was outta there like a cock in aids.

I'd love to be a pizza delivery boy. Wizzing round on my scooter, with a silly flag on it, making incorrect turns to annoy traffic...good stuff.

Re: jobs
I've never had a job.
I was off school for a year or so so had to catch up. I hauled arse and got the best Standard Grades in my school, did my Highers, then left school in the beginning of sixth year because it was getting shit. Between then and the time I started Uni (September 2004), my office hours were 2pm to 5am. I'd usually just lie in bed watching Poirot, then stay up till 5am eating Crunchy Nut Cornflakes and watching Late Night Poker. My greatest achievment during these months was getting Trenchmouth and my lower wisdom teeth removed.
Then there was Uni. My flatmates and I did some rough sums and worked out that I drink approximately 85 per cent of the time (310 days a year) so there was never any danger of me working during term time. In my months off I'd either be getting hammered, or 'travelling'.
And now I'm two weeks and six days away from my final exam.
Then there will be a degree.
If it's a 2 (1) or better, I'll get a super-awesome job. Otherwise, I'll get a job in Somerfield and drink myself to death. This summer's a bit of a write-off too. First off all there's Euro 2008. Secondly, there's a ton of rugby games I'll be watching; the Tri-Nations and the Home Nations' tours.
