Kid Rock pulled out so Priest played a longer set. Thus, a longer set than Kiss, the actual headliners. Brilliant.

Their set still missed one song though, The Green Manalishi, which is one of the best songs I've ever seen performed live by any band ever, back in 2003/4 (can't remember which one). The power of that riff made my soul exploded with utmost glory, I nearly cried because the power of the rock was almost too much for me. Still gutted I missed it last night though, bloody hell, Judas Priest live is one of the best things ever.

Well, this album isn't so bad. I suppose now that I've expected it to be completely rubbish, it actually turned out quite good. It's not that good though. In fact, it's incredibly silly and quite hilarious. Most of the songs are slow with riffs that really aren't very interesting, that lead to what Priest imagine an epic chorus to be. Forced epic-ness is something I really hate, and it's happening everywhere on this album. Also worth noting is the production. For an album 2 years in the making, it sounds pretty awful. Rubbish drum sound, rubbish bass sound, muddy guitars, but at least the vocals are good. Hardly any screams though! And the solos are all pretty rubbish, in fact some of the lead guitar parts are actually quite messy and sound pretty bad.

Overall, this album sounds like it was made by a bunch of 5 year olds. However, it's still pretty enjoyable most of the way through, and despite it's shortcomings I'd still give it 6/10. That could move down to 5 in a couple of weeks though. I don't think this album will have a big long-term appeal to it to be honest. Oh well. Thanks for trying Judas Priest, but you really should've tried harder!

That's because they played the only two half-decent songs on the album. The rest is worse. Much worse...

And here's a Blabbermouth review that, for once, I actually agree with. Apart from the bit where he says it's impeccably recorded and mixed, because, well, it's not.
