A spending choice

Postby Metalbrew Stu on Thu Mar 15, 2007 12:00 am

Normally when my loan comes in, I'll spend £50 or so on CDs and then pretty much spend the rest on beer and food. It gets annoying having enough to buy more CDs through the term, but if I buy nice enough CDs, they'll last.

When my next installment comes in though, I've decided to spend aobut £100 getting a sound card and speakers. I've been reading into the Creative X-Fi range, and they sound really really good. Mix that with some 5.1 speakers, and rather than buying new music, I should rediscover my existing music.

The sound card does some really really clever stuff and manages to split stereo tracks into up to 7 channels, and 'remasters' the sound. From the reviews I've read, it sounds fucking awesome. And it's THX certified. Basically, it'll sound 10 times better than my shitty stereo, especially my MP3s.

No real reason for creating this thread, I just thought I'd let you all know.

I've got creative speakers, they're pretty killer. I haven't upgraded the soundcard though.

What ones do you have? I'm thinking of getting the T6060 5.1 with the X-Fi Xtrememusic sound card.

You should research into getting one of those donner kebab machines and buy that instead. And keep it in your bedroom eating kebabs all day long. That's what I'd do. Mmmm... Shit, I've just made myself really hungry. I'm probably going to have dreams of kebabs now.

Second!
I'm going to
Tear your fuckin' eyes out,
Rip your fuckin' flesh off,
Beat you 'till you're just a fucking lifeless carcass,
Fuck you and your progress,
Watch me fucking regress,
You were made to take the fall,
Now you're nothing!!

That's because you're not using the right seasoning on them.

I've had a creative sound card + 5.1 system for years now.

Best way to listen to music.

I only got an Audigy and the Inspire 5000 5.1s but then thats all there was back then.

Now rip all those CD's to mp3s, get some torrents going and you've discoverd the best way to listen to music.
Thrash is shite, listen to Take That you fucking dicks

Cool! I've got all my CDs backed up on MP3 anyway, so that's not a problem. Thanks for bringing it back on topic as well.

I really wish I had enough money to buy a kebab. I've literally got no money until I work and then get paid. Bloody shit.

Yeah exactly, plus food poisoning is pretty likely.

P.S. sound cards...speakers...computers...mp3s...ripping CDs. There we go..

Fucking kebabs. When they're right, they're right. When they're wrong, I throw them away. They're usually wrong in Southampton. Even when drunk I've had to throw away at least 5 kebabs! That's bad.

Things I hate in a kebab:
- Chilli sauce from a squeezey bottle
- No pickled chillies
- Overly spiced meat (unless is a Kofte)
- Stale bread
- Chewy meat
- Meat with no flavour

Things I really like:
- A lovely bread - not just a simple Pita, something that goes the extra mile
- Easy to eat wraps. So much easier, especially when pissed.
- Delightful meat. Meaning not any of the above
- A nice hot chilli sauce. Not eye wateringly so, but a nice tang
- A good salad, and not too much of it.
- A fork where needed

And there we have it. Imagine a 5.1 surround taste kebab.

I will eat anything. I was talking to our new bassist's girlfriend the other night about vegetarianism and she was asking why I eat meat. I just explained that if I can digest it, I am going to eat it. Eating rules.
