Re: The Official Football Thread
Fuck the Old Firm, and Scottish football in general to be honest. I watched part of that Cup Final the other week and I'm not sure I've seen football that ugly before. It really hacks me off that football is Scotland's national sport. The Old Firm just represents everything that's wrong with the sport in my opinion. Not that it's even that big a rivalry, compared to the rivalries you get in South America, but the fact that people are willing to beat the shit out of each other because of some alleged religious affiliation that's tied to a fixture just goes completely over my head.
Having the past twenty years of the league won by two teams is fucking farcical too. I actually quite like watching us play at an international level, but I don't see what all the fuss is about when it comes to the SPL. It's not as if its remotely entertaining to watch when compared to watching Tottenham playing.

Rangers are 1 up. Oh dear.
I remember a Nirvana tune, 'I Hate Myself and I Want to Die.' As much as I like Kurt Cobain. I can't have people like that coming over here, on smack, fucking saying that they hate themselves and they wanna die. That's fucking rubbish. Kids don't need to be hearing that non-sense.

Been a reasonably excellent week for me. Stuffing the toffees in the derby, getting a draw and an away goal in the Champions League at the Emirates and getting another draw with Arsenal yesterday.
A nice, dull 0-0 on Tuesday will make me very happy indeed, and although Everton won today and are now only 3 points behind us, they still have Chelsea and Arsenal to play while our toughest two games (on paper anyway) are Blackburn at home and Spurs away.

Fucking hell. That was anything but a "nice, dull 0-0"
That match had everything. Goals, moments of brilliance (from both teams), controversy, grit and determination. We were shit in the first 25 minutes with possession, giving the ball away with stupid passes and not getting the tackles in and all credit to Arsenal, they deserved the opener.
The equaliser couldn't have come from a more deserving player, I really do rate Sami Hyypia - his work-rate and loyalty to the club is awesome. The same goes for Dirk Kuyt, he was always down the right flank giving Arsenal problems. Fernando Torres, though, is completely out of this world. Skill, pace, youth, he's worth every single penny of the £26 million. He's got the Gerrard-esque ability to turn games around, and he did it again tonight.
The last 20 minutes were probably the most edgy I've seen all season. End-to-end, literally. The penalty - in my opinion - was clear. Babel was brought down in the box (although the contact was only minimal) when he had a clear scoring opportunity, therefore it had to be a penalty. I do have a certain amount of sympathy for Arsenal because we were let off the hook big-time in the first leg. In the end though, I think we wanted it more and it showed.

DOES NOBODY CARE ABOUT MY ERECTION?!
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.
