I've never heared of these re-mastered Megadeth albums. Don't think I'll bother checking them out now though after reading this.

I have the remaster, it's all Ive ever heard and I don't like it. I don't get with that and Peace Sells why there are the remix versions, aren't they just basically the same? Even if they're not it's not noticable enough to warrent putting them on the albums.

Megadeth blates rule though.

I remember hearing the re-mastered version of Holy Wars like a year or so ago and it nearly made me vomit blood.

Got the old version of SFSGSW and RIP and the new version of Peace Sells. I'm happy, not had any problems.

I like the sound of the guitar/bass and drums on the RiP remaster/remix, but the vocals are... well, pretty shit to be fair!!!

It's better than the original cos I used to have a portable cd player and could NEVER hear the songs on the original when on the bus, then the remaster blew my ears off haha!

I'm not so sure.

I think the drum sound on the remaster of Youthanasia is fucking shocking. The introduction to Addicted To Chaos has gone from being heavier than Michelle McManus to as poncey as Toby Flood. I think it was the Youthanasia remaster that made me cry the most; it was the album that got me into Megadeth and, in my opinion, it's as close as they ever got to doing a perfect album, with the obvious exception of Peace Sells.

P.S. Get yourself a better pair of earphones. I had a pair of Shures that I got for £35 (reduced from £80) off Amazon. They were phenomenal whilst they lasted. Honestly, how they manage to get that much bass from earphones is great. They're totally noise cancelling though, so you have to get used to always waiting for the green man when crossing the road. Otherwise you will be hit by a car.

I had some really old sony headphones (yeah, headphones not earphones...) proper studio ones, they were awesome, pretty much noise cancelling, but there's only so much they can do on a clapped out ancient old bus (the engines are loud as fuck!!!)... and quiet cds mean you can hear the annoying girls screeching and giggling at 7:40 in the morning... not a pleasent sound  I'd prefer to just hear some really loud metal

Youthanasia was never one of my fave 'deth albums, never got into it really, some of the tracks are alirght but it's kinda boring...

The only thing that pisses me off about Youthanasia was that it set a precedent that Megadeth could stick to and still be successful. They stopped playing Thrash and were pretty tuneful yet it was still their best selling album for a while. They should have just stuck to that formula.

Lets be honest, who listens to Megadeth for the vocals anyway?

I loved the remaster of Rust In Peace, I think it sounds lovely, the snare drum is much more pleasing to my ear. I didn't realise he redid some of the vocals, but I never listened to the original that much anyway, I bought the remaster pretty much as soon as it came out and have always just listened to that. And I bloody love it. And yes indeed, the new keyboards in Set the World Ageorge are utterly hilarious.

Who needs remastered CDs when you have PSBWB, SFSGSW and RIP on Vinyl?
