What the utter living fuck is this crap?!

For fuck's sake, I honestly don't see how the hell any self respecting band could put out such utter shite. Americon has a decent-ish groove to it for a few minutes, then even that goes to shit - and the rest of the album isn't worth a fuck whatsoever!

I never ever thought I'd say this, but Slayer have actually managed to make a record thats shittier than Diabolus in Musica. Absolute fucking garbage.

I couldn't disagree more. I haven't liked a Slayer album since "Seasons In The Abyss", but I like this one. I think it's far and away the best thing they've done for donkey's years. Production's shitty though.

I like it. Well most of it anyway, grows on you after a couple of listens. Good solid Slayer no more no less.

found my self saying 'oh that bit sounds just like...' pretty much all the way through. That's not a criticism, just an observation.

Yep, hit the nail on the head. It is actually the best album since RIB. I have been enjoying this a lot over the last week.

That's exactly what I was doing. It's reminiscent of their earlier albums without just redoing them.

WPB is the only album I have listened to for the past week. I have three different versions of the cd already and am on the hunt for the other two parts of the skull map. Unit 731, Human Strain, Snuff and Beauty Through Order are among my favourite songs of the year.
I'm not blinkered enough to say it's a perfect album (Hate Worldwide and Americon are a bit iffy) but I definitely feel it's the best possible album the band at this point in their career could produce.

I'm really thinking of picking this up now. It's hard to judge an album until you've properly sat down with it. Might pick this up and Endgame next weekend (when the money comes back in). That being said, I say these things and rarely follow them through.
"And what about the churches and all their wealth
There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"
