Reanimator - Saturday 31st March - Birmingham

Postby Bestial Bill on Mon Feb 19, 2007 10:24 am

In March Reanimator will be two years old. This is a big achievement for us and something I’m pretty proud of. It’s a real triumph over adversity, and better than that it’s a triumph over the deluge of mainstream soulless corporate crap and crippling apathy that has eroded the metal scene here so badly of late. It seems nowdays that people just aren’t interested in supporting grassroots anymore – they want everything handed to them on a platter, don’t want to move outside their comfort zone to see bands they haven’t read about in some glossy magazine or go to a venue they don’t frequent every week. It’s also a big middle finger to all the posers, pretenders and nay-sayers who thought that we couldn’t do this. These people underestimated the dedication and genuine passion that exists in our hearts, but our love for this doesn’t diminish like theirs when the wind of trend changes. The moral here is: Don’t fuck with true metal!

Conquest are releasing their brand new album early in March and from what I’ve heard so far it crushes the previous effort like a bug, so this is the first chance to hear some awesome new material from them. As for the other bands, we have local talent and long time Reanimator supporters Vincent Drive, proper metal might from Dark Forest. The fourth band has been changed from Man of the Hour to Seregon, and the flyer will be updated shortly to reflect this. As it’s our birthday we’re hoping to do a few other special things too, and although we might not be able to match last years epic clash between El Nekro and The Povemachine we should at least have some cake.

We played with Conquest of Steel once. The guy had a sword on stage.

As part of his act or was it just an incredibly rough venue?

Dunno, I left half way through because it was boring and I wanted to go home.

Nah, it was a long drive back from Huddersfield in the back of a van, we had to go. That doesn't take away from the fact I think they're boring though.

Are you going to have the new EP along this Saturday? I know technically it won't have been released yet...
Chops from Sarpanitum won't stop telling me how great it is.
