Alice Cooper and Motorhead

Postby Mazz on Fri Nov 16, 2007 12:25 pm

Ok so i'm not that keen on Alice Cooper (apart from the stage show) but i love it the Motorhead. I'm off to see them tonight in Cardiff. Anyone else going or has anyone else seen any of the dates on the tour?

I wish I was going. Saw both bands at Gods Of Metal 2004 and they were brilliant.

i had tickets for wembley but then grudgingly sold them as CG got a gig in wakefield with conquest of steel tomorrow. apparently alice is doing a mostly 70s set (only one or two 80s songs and virtually no 90s/00s) and when i saw motorhead a year ago they did about 4 songs off kiss of death and the rest was all vintage. have a blast dude, should be awesome!

If we are asked! There is talk of us playing at a Wizard night thing in London! Something to do with the chap from the band Invasion. He saw us in Bristol on Saturday and asked us to play on one of his Wizard nights. I will dress as a Wizard.

I went last Saturday.
It was ace.

No Motorhead pics. They were filming it themselves so they made sure nobody else could take pics by flashing two bright centre lights at two second intervals for the entire duration of their set.

I also went last Saturday! I didn't really want to as I'm not really a fan of any of the three bands. I thought Motorhead were rubbish, everytime I see them they put me in mind of a tramp muttering over some fast guitars. Alice Cooper and Joan Jett were both surprisingly entertaining though.
I killed Reanimator.

Motorhead always start their shows louder than any other band on the planet and then proceed to increase the volume with each passing song.
Which is great if you have the mix right.
Last Saturday it was all wrong. Lemmy's vocals were drowned out by everything else, especially his bass which dominated everything apart from Phil's guitar solos. At one point, it took me until the chorus to realise it was actually Rosalie by Thin Lizzy they were covering.
The most annoying thing though was the double flashing light above the middle of the stage, going off every two seconds specifically to make sure nobody could take any pictures or film it on their mobiles. All well and good but it was just fucking annoying for most people, and coupled with the ear splitting volume, a lot of people were just left feeling really uncomfortable.

Saw the Brighton Show. Great Stuff.
Whilst seeing Motorhead for the one billionth time, Id never seen Cooper before.
Lemmy and folks were flawless as ever...could have been louder Id say thou.
The Cooper show was very entertaining, I guess its more like a musical than a band...lots of easy to enjoy commerical hard rock songs and interesting stage show.
Very enjoyable.

Feed my Frankenstein made me feel like I was in Wayne’s world.
Motorhead were very loud and very good. I did not enjoy Alice that much. He LA mad max style backing band were annoying me. I don't know why but they were. I did enjoy Feed my Frankenstein as it made me feel like I was in Wayne’s world.

Both bands did drum solos...I booed the Alice Cooper drum solo.

I went to a club later on and danced to Green onions, Immigrant song and some AC/DC song. I can't remember which one. We looked very old in the club as it was full of 17 to 20 year old indie kids. :D

We got back to the hotel smoked a number and then fell asleep while watching Star Trek…..I’m so fucking cool.

i went to the wembley show, had a really good night. Motorhead were great as always, would have been nice to hear more of their latest album but their set was a decent length for a support act. Alice cooper was quite entertaining.
