New Death Angel Album

Postby Darkweasel on Thu Nov 29, 2007 11:59 am

So far this week I have had a 100% success rate in starting threads whch already exist elsewhere. I really hope this doesn't continue the trend...

Veteran San Francisco Bay Area metallers DEATH ANGEL will release their new album, "Killing Season", on February 26, 2008 in the U.S. and February 29 internationally via Nuclear Blast Records.

DEATH ANGEL guitarist Rob Cavestany previously stated about the upcoming CD, "Wait 'till you hear this disc, my friends, you will hear us like you never have before! This shit is SLAMMIN'!"

Check out photos from the "Killing Season" recording session in the "Pics" section of Rob's MySpace page (free registration required to view pictures).

DEATH ANGEL's latest CD, "The Art of Dying", was released in May 2004 through Nuclear Blast Records. The group's first studio album since 1990's "Act III" was recorded at SF Soundworks studios in San Francisco, California with producer Brian Joseph Dobbs (VOIVOD, MANMADEGOD).

Roll on February.

Surely you have a soft spot for The Ultra Violence Iain, if nothing else?

Frolic was always my 'favourite' by them. TUV had some OK songs but it just isn't the Thrash classic that everyone says it is. As far as the Bay Area bands go, Death Angel just aren't up there for me.

I'm not wild on them too. A few good songs, nothing blinding...

There's an unseen fortune under their belts
Are golden temples a symbol of God's way
This horde of wealth is a sickening display"

I hope they don't fuck up, can't really see it being anything other than a bit groovy though.

I agree.
Imagine if it was another classique like the ultra violence though... that makes my mouth water...

A combination of The Ultra Violence and FTTP would be nice.
If they could write another Mistress of Pain or Bored then I would be very happy with that.

The Ultra Violence was awesome. Act III was boring and aint heard any other material so not sure what to expect here.

Personally, I liked Act III. It wasn't very thrash, but I didn't think it was that bad overall.

A few good songs... That's all I expect from Death Angel.

They were the worst angel.

1. Dark Angel
2. Morbid Angel
3. Death Angel

Still, not bad news by any measure.

TUV is an awesome album, its so raw and full of pissed off adolescence etc, the vocals onkillas one are some of my favourite in metal in general. but i dont really hold up much hope for anything new.
