I downloaded Evile - Enter the Grave. I bought it from HMV the day it came out.
I downloaded Exodus - Atrocity Exhibition. I ordered it the moment it came available.
I downloaded Death Angel - Killing Season. It arrived this morning (lovely cd/dvd packaging)
Well, you can see where I'm going with this.
I like all the fancy packaging that comes with an album and, for me, downloading is just a great way of trying the music before you buy. Essentially, I don't see it as any different to what I used to do, which was buy an album and if I didn't like it, take it back to the shop and get another one instead. Now, if I don't like what I download, I just delete it. Same principle as taking something back to a shop but it saves on shoe leather.
But if I like it then I'm straight down to the shops the day of it's release or ordering off the net the moment it becomes available to pre-order.

If they somehow managed to stop downloading music, I'd never listen to new music. They can fuck off if they think I'm paying £13 a CD.

Some places are pretty good for prices. The new Death Angel (cd/dvd verion) only costs £8.99 from HMV online and I buy albums from Amazon all the time because they're only around a fiver each.

If I was going to spend £8.99 I'd buy a DVD.

Although I can understand what your saying if I think of the number of hours I will listen to a quality CD and the number of hours I would watch a DVD the CD provides much more entertainment.
I must have clocked a thousand hours on Reign in Blood but my favourite movies.... well I can only watch them a couple of times a year. So for Mask of the Red Death, 1.5 hours, probably first saw it 15 years ago, 45 hours of fun. Nowhere near Reign in Blood for value.
The trouble is when you by a turkey movie you just throw it on the pile, maybe give it away, ebay it but any way you only feel slightly cheated. When you buy a turkey cd (esp from a band you like) man... it's like you've been raped! Some motherfucker stole your thousands of hours of metal fun.

Even that's pricey for a DVD. Well, unless it's just come out. One way you fuck yourself over with DVDs is paying for the ultra-super-mega-two-disc versions. They rarely actually have anything extra on them.
If you shop at Fopp, HMV.co.uk and Play.com you can make your money go a long way though.

I'm the opposite. My DVD is huge compared to my CD collection, and I can watch my DVDs over and over and over.

Yes, because:
a) It's Exodus.
b) It's ace.

Again, the only bad thing about Exodus' new material is Rob Dukes.

And it taking Lee away from Heathen. Gary Holt has ruined two perfectly good bands since Tempo of the Damned. He's a lardy pie too.
