Deicide new album

Postby GoreBastard on Tue Apr 29, 2008 4:25 am

There are 2 full length tracks from their new album on their MySpace
www.myspace.com/thestenchofredemption

Till Death do us part is heavy as fuck and the solo is sexy as hell, and In The Eyes of God is awesome too. (I rule at reviewing stuff)

I can't wait for this album, Deicide are fucking awesome. Fuck off if you don't like them!

They're just another silly boys rounders band. Yes Glen, we get it, you don't like organised religion. Next.
I remember a Nirvana tune, 'I Hate Myself and I Want to Die.' As much as I like Kurt Cobain. I can't have people like that coming over here, on smack, fucking saying that they hate themselves and they wanna die. That's fucking rubbish. Kids don't need to be hearing that non-sense.

Deicide are pretty boring I think, the whole anti religion thing just gets annoying after a while.

I like the first two Deicide albums, but they could have quit many years ago for all I care; that new stuff sounds pretty boring.

The first Deicide album was excellent. They could have made it better by not allowing Glen Benton to sound like a goat caught in the engine of a Fiat Ciecento, but that's Death Metal for you...

No I don't listen to them for their lyrics. Nobody can understand what death metal bands are saying! I listen to them for the riffs. They could be singing about bumming men and I'd still like em.

Glen's pretty much ditched the all out Satanic lyrics now anyways, there's still some but not to the same extent as on previous albums. Deicide improved vastly since they booted the Hoffman's out and let Asheim write most of the stuff. Getting Ralph Santolla to do lead guitar was a massive bonus too, last album was ace and this one is quality too. Shame it'll probably be their last. :(

Yes, but those new riffs sound very bland! :?

Having given 'Till Death Do Us Part a good listen it's not as good as Stench Of Redemption but it's a pretty good album. Weird how in a long career their first two and last two albums are the ones worth getting...

The new album is the best thing they've done since Legion (and I really liked The Stench of Redemption). The solos are brilliant, Glen's even written a non satanic song (Severed Ties is about his divorce), and Horror in the Halls of Stone is one of the songs of the year.
Fucking awesome.
