The artwork is great, but the song... well, at least it's completely and utterly bloody hilarious. Part of me is pleased that it's as hilarious as I hoped it would be, the other part of me is slightly upset as it's... well... quite... terrible? Absolutely awful? Really ridiculous? I don't know how to describe it.

On second listening in my headphones, it's definitely not awful, but as songs go, it's not really "good". But being Judas Priest, the utmost hilarity of it all provides me with great fun, and that's enough, as long as there are some actual good songs on the album as well that aren't just hilarious.

Less double bass drum please! Priest didn't need double kicks on early records to make it sound heavy. As my lovely Jon says, its hilarious! I can't believe that Judas Priest have written a bloody double album on that subject, unbelievable! Its epic as hell and good metal but a little too generic, cool though!

The verse riff is very derivative Painkiller-era worship, the main NOS-TRA-DAMUS chant is a bit lame, and yes I do think the double bass is a bit needless.
On the other hand, Halford's vocals are GREAT, the solo is cool, and some of the riffier moments are pretty rocking. It does sound very much like to re-create the Painkiller vibe but with a big epic ingredient too, so it will be interesting to check out the rest of the album!

I agree on both counts. I thought it was fucking great. Can't remember a recent metal release made me smile so immediately. Perfect, Priest pomp. I did note the Painkiller worship in one of the main riffs also but had no problem with the doublebass. I was really indifferent to this and now I'm very much looking forward to it.
