You would actually need 60,000 gold stars just to be put in the LOTTO for a CD

So the Myspace is definitely an improvement, but how about the MP3 player? Suggestions of what to put on there?

Someone with a bit of music tech ability could edit a load of different UK thrash tracks together. Like 15 seconds of one song then cross-fade into another so they can get an impression of all the different bands in the scene.

Re: UK Thrash Myspace
well alot of the people in here are in or have a link to a band, so maybe have like a band of the week thing, to help promote some of these bands? Maybe have a bio and blog written by the band and a tune to back it up? Would fill some space!

FRASHAZ FAVEZ yeah, like weekly (or monthly) band promos with 2/3/4 bands on there? With links and shit at the top
Martin's idea was pretty good aswell, only problem is naming the song!

For the player James, I think you should just go with swapping the tracks around monthly. Say (for example) you have Heretic, SSS, Gama Bomb, Mutant and Covet Chaos for May. Then in June, take 'em down and slap up H.O.D, Acral Necrosis, Bloodbrawl, River Freshney and Pitiful Reign or something.
Yeah its a bit of effort but its probably the best way to go about it.

Yeah, I reckon that's the most sensible way to do it - so just need a few MP3s now!

I would have to insist that Heretic and River Freshney tracks be put up at the same time.

Anyone who wants a track up for this month email me an MP3.
By the way, this afternoon we just broke the record for most users online - 24!

Re: UK Thrash Myspace
if i remember rightly, i think you can now have 10 tracks at a time on the myspace player, so...
If the bands submit a very small bio with their track, you could do an accompanying blog to go with the tracks each month or so. i think somebody said that just above... so i've basically just nicked an idea straight up there, wow, it feels good.

Re: UK Thrash Myspace
Hmmmmmmmm all very interesting debate chaps.
Good work on the Myspace James, looks good and i'm sure it'll continue to do so. A small suggestion from me regarding the media player, how about tying it in with the podcast? Maybe feature bands on the media player that're in that months podcast?
Flyer-wise i'll gladly help out anyway i can, i'm happy to dish out flyers at any gig i go to along with sticking the url in any future release from us lot.
N00bs on the forum suggestion, how about placing a restriction on new arrivals such as not being able to start new topics etc etc until they reach a certain number of posts so they can get the general gist of what this place is all about rather than steaming in with a cut and paste 'WE'VE PLAYED WITH ALL THESE ACE BANDS AND WE'RE GREAT' kind of way? It might afford a certain amount of protection for them whilst also helping them to not look like utter berks.
