Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

Thank the Police coming straight from the underground...

I find that metal gigs these days are loud to the point where it is actually hurting my ears to the extent is uncomfortable ( last Exodus gig i was at was a prime example). The sound always seems to be spot on for the last support band and then the headliners come on and have to turn it up to 11 and sound shit in the process.

I have used the bog standard foam plugs and also the ones that are designed for wearing during flights to stop your ears popping. The foam ones do muffle the sound too much and I found that the flight ones were uncmfy in the ears after 15 minutes although the sound was more audible with those. Might invest in a pair of these:

I decided it was a good idea to start protecting my lugs cos my Dad is practically deaf and that was due to working with Carpet weaving machinery without ear protection when he was younger. His social life is shit now because of it. PROTECT YOUR EARS KIDS!!!!

Was that the Exodus gig in 2005?

If so, it was just a complete shambles more than a sound problem. Don't stop masturbating for fear of losing your hearing or anything.

Aye, the very same.

I would never dream of stopping masturbating for anything. I would have to find something else to do during the 3 hours a day it takes up.

Nah. Shagging takes far too much effort. Plus, she has too much CSI to watch.

Never really bothers me, though i should get some to be on the safe side....apparently i was thought to be part deaf as a kid but was a constant ear infection...

Also at the London music show they were doing these personally molded ones...though it looked like clay with a tampon hanging out of it

I should really invest in a bulk case of those foam ones, 50 quid for 100 pairs here:

I have a pair which I keep using which I really shouldn't be doing apparently, I also have a pair of plastic ones wsimilar to these:

Only problem is they're unreliable and don't stay firmly in place, whereas the foam ones do. Also when I used to use them my ears would sometimes still ring

These ones are also great: http://www.proplugs.com/index.shtml

And they don't make you look silly. They are also vented, and the ones I got from the Wembley Drum Centre cost £12, and come in different sizes to fit into your ear and no one can see them. Lovely. Unfortunately I lost them, which is why I got the Elacin ones, which are a bit more annoying and look more silly, but are just as effective.

I'm pretty skint and can't afford to spend any money for the next couple of weeks. Maybe I could get some scissors and cut out little bits of the couch, then sellotape them to my ears. That should woouurrk.

I've never used them before, but I should start wearing them when I practice with my band. It's the drums that do it. Our drummer is a big fat bastard and he twats the drums like fuck, which is harsh as hell on the old ear drums.
