I recognise that cheat from somewhere, but where? It's almost like the original Megadrive Sonic cheat, but with more bits. Lewis, what game was it?

was it mortal kombat perhaps.or sonic 2.

i know sonic 1 was:up,down,left,right,A+start. (its strange what info the braincells store forever.)

also there was a game where the cheat was:up,C,down,C,left,C,right,C. its really bugging me now,coz i obviously had the game but just cant think. i might google it...

EDIT:it was also for sonic 1 and allowed you to change from sonic into all the level design stuff and reproduce them:ie:rings,baddies,hills etc etc.pretty much anything.
it was almost like a build your own level cheat.man,that was wicked fun.

The most known use of the Konami code was for Contra to give you 30 lives. But it works on loads of other Konami games

C up C down C left C right A+Start together, that was a sonic cheat I think.

it was like a glitching cheat.hours of fun.

also sonic 2,you had to play a few songs in a certain order to get the level/super sonic cheats.

it was something like 19,65,09,17 i believe. then for super sonic it was 4,1,2,6.

Well remembered Rik! I was about to say that one. There was also the debug mode cheat, where in the level select screen you had to play 1, 9, 9, 2, 1, 1, 2, 4 I think, which was the release date for Sonic 2 (24/11/1992). The one I could never, ever do, was the Sonic 3 cheat. You had to very very quickly press Up, Up, Down, Down, Up, Up, Up, Up when the screen went black on the Sega logo, but before Sonic appeared. It's madness, it's impossible, I don't understand how anyone could do it apart from Superman. The Sonic 3 & Knuckles cheat was much easier though, I can't remember what the code was because I only found it out on the Sonic Mega Collection Plus on the PS2, but you had to input it while you were swinging on the vines in the Angel Island zone.

Also, in Sonic 2, if you did the level select cheat you could pause the game and hold down B to move in slow motion. Thusly therefore, if you wanted to change into Super Sonic but keep the amazing music of the level, you could change in slow motion and the music wouldn't change. Unfortunately though, this doesn't work in Sonic 3 & Knuckles, which is a shame because the Super Sonic music is really rubbish.

I don't remember too many old cheats... I do remember that on the Amiga version of mortal combat, if you typed in WOMBATS before the main screen it turned off blood and finishing moves. Crap cheat. And '7KIDS' when typed in on the character selection screen of Street Fighter 2 let player 1 and 2 be the same character. I don't now why that had to be cheat when you could do it on all other versions anyway.

Anyway, don't know about you guys but i'm off for a bit of fun now so...
