This is about as popular as the Covet Chaos drummer thread.

Re: Gorguts are back!
That's a blast from the past. I remember seeing them at a club in Reading (After Dark?) back in 1993, with fellow Canadians Blasphemy as support (remember them?). I remember Gorguts being rather good, but I don't know if it would float my boat these days.
One of the Canadian guys that came over with them wanted to get people slamming, and kept coming up and pushing people. Then when the real slamming started he ended up on his back a dozen time, spilling his pint all over himself in the process

Gorguts are pretty cool, though I don't have their supposedly 'seminal' tech-death album 'Obscura'. Considered Dead and The Erosion of Sanity are pretty cool vintage death metal albums, but I haven't gone back to them for ages. You can get them both as a 'Two From the Vault' package though, so definitely worth checking out.
It is getting pretty ridiculous though the amount of acts suddenly reforming; it's more a question of who HASN'T reformed now.

Heavy!
Also, i literally don't care how money grabbing, or "re-living former glories" that it obviously is, i'm still more than happy for even the most obscure bands from the past to reform. i'm glad we can get the opertunity to still see some amazing/classic and even inspirational music from back in the day. In the last few years the amount of awesome gigs i've been to that have been "re-union" shows or "original line up" is unreal. i saw Comus on a boat in Sweden last year for the sake of fuck. thats insane, i then came back to England helped organise a very shoddy metal festival and got to see both Pagan Altar and Cloven Hoof... i mean, what the hell is going on there!? i've been rarely let down by these re-formed lineups, they are generally totally rollicking. so well done you fiendish, money grabbing old men! keep up the good work!
