I think it may have been a case of bad research perhaps?
Gee.... I don't know about the rest of you guys, but lately the only things that truly motivate me are erections and bowel movements.

He also has "very metal" on the back of his jacket so I'm not sure

Just go and die, quickly.

It is seriously over-rated.

What you meant ot say is, It is seriously the best sitcom ever made, every line is quotable classic and nothing comes close to it's majesty.

Is it fuck. Steve Coogan is really not that funny.

I have to agree with iain, i never found anything coogan did funny, not partridge, calf or anything. I also agree that the office is totally over-rated, and not that funny at all. However, i did like extras.

This should be taken as definitive as well coming from me, because to proove i have impeccable comedy taste, i have all 3 on the buses films!!!! :D

I dont know to be honest. I think the whole idea of vivian was that he was just being a punk to be cool, but he was a metalhead at heart, hence the metal shirts, the very metal denim, and dont forget him banging away to motorhead when they played his front room.
the only thing i never really liked about the young ones was alexi sayle. The guy is a twat, and seriously not even nearly funny!!!!

University challenge is the best episode, but they are all great!!!!

The best sitcom ever though, just has to be blackadder.

Well I think Sayle was a vital part of the show to be honest.. HELLO BOYS!

If there's any problems with it, it's that some of the best jokes are never even noticed because the audience is still laughing or they move so quickly - it's all part of the roughness of the show, but sometimes it's so rough, you miss it.

I just finished watching a film called THE REAPING, knocked up a quick review of it for another forum and have now lazily cut and pasted it to here...

Ex-priest, now turned professional unbeliever Hilary Swank has a neat line in debunking miracles. Enlisted to travel to the deep south, she and her black (oh, you know that's not going to end well) co-debunkee are asked to investigate apocalyptic warning signs including rivers of blood and a mysterious girl who everyone in town thinks is The Devil.

Cue a by-the-numbers list of biblical plagues (frogs, dead cattle, boils etc), add a back story of how our Hilary's family was killed in Africa and you end up on a road that starts in the small village of X-Files, stops for a bite to eat in Omen country before ending it's overstayed welcome in Wickermansville - only to veer off course right at the very end and come to a grinding halt in the ghost town of Pointless Twists.

With the (pilfered) story out of the way, it's time to move onto the other ingredient that makes this tasty little shit sandwich complete: The special effects.
Basically, this is what happens when you let a YTS student loose with CGI technology. Oh yes, somebody definitely stole George Lucas' "when in doubt - CGI it" manual for this one.
As the story grows increasingly weaker and the stupendously daft climax draws ever nearer, the cheap moviemaker's favourite toy becomes more and more prevalent, and by the end has virtually made you forget that human actors actually exist among the computer generated jiggery pokery at all.
Skies, rivers, trees, frogs, locusts, people, buildings and cars. If it moves, CGI it. If it doesn't, then CGI it anyway.

Overall, it's a throwaway 90 minutes of regurgitated story, mildly irritating flashbacks, very irritating dream sequences and acting that ranges from the amateurish to the gloriously hammy. You'll have seen worse films but you'll have seen a hell of a lot of better ones.

4/10

He used to wear a Rush shirt as well.
Most of the bands that appered on the show were shit as well, although one episode did have Motorhead ripping through Ace of Spades in the living room.

Nine Below Zero - "11 + 11". Crapola
Dexy's Midnight Runners - "Jackie Wilson Said". One hit wonders
Amazulu - "Moonlight Romance". Oh dear, oh dear.
Madness ("House of Fun", "Our House") - Not my cup of tea but they were a top band
Ken Bishop's Nice Twelve: "Subterrannean Homesick Blues" - Bob Dylan cover. Meh.
The Damned - "Nasty". Excellent
Radical Posture - "Doctor Marten Boots"! Annoying.
Rip, Rig and Panic - "You're My Kind of Climate". Who? Oh, Neneh Cherry was in them apparently.
Motorhead - "Ace of Spades". Ace.
John Otway - "Body Talk" WTF?!! Utter shite.

100% AGREED!

I despise his character, and his appearances are easily the most boring and pointless moments in the show. His boistrous, redundant ramblings are irritating at best.

Hahaha, there was some really strange performances, especially that body talk one - although I think viv goes "I'd like to hit him with something" after the performance or something..

Favourite episodes? I'd have to say Rick's party or the one where they discover oil in the cellar and Viv gets axed in the head..
