THRASH RESURGENCE IN THE U.S.?
A lot of bands coming through where I live stay at my house. Some of you UKers may not have heard of Nodes Of Ranvier yet, and if you haven't, do yourself a favor and order up their latest album THE YEARS TO COME straight away. Anyway, they were staying at the house a few weeks ago and told me that in L.A. there is loads of kids waling around in denim vests, tight jeans, and white hi-tops! I thought that was hilarious and thought I would share it hear. For some of us Thrash has never fallen out of our lives, even 19 years on in my case, but I think it's cool that so many young mettalers are going the way of thrash. Now please go check out Nodes Of Ranvier! They have three albums out, and they incorporate alot of thrash elements into a good modern blend of melodic, yet riff heavy material. I've seen them four times live and they are awesome...last time they were through town they played two new songs that just raged. They have just signed to Victory, so maybe their forthcoming album will have better distribution in the UK.

I just listened to a song on their myspace, i dont know if i got the wrong band or what but it just sounded like fairly limp-wristed 'metal-core' to me. There are some killer new thrash bands from the USA but i dont think this is one of them!

Yeah some great new bay area bands popping up. Merciless Death, Hatchet, Taunted, Fueled by Fire, Fog of War, Anger as Art, and Scarecrow being some of the best.
Seriously listen to fucking Scarecrow.

Outside of the bay area there are other great ones such as Besieged, Lich King, Menacer, My Own Mess, etc.
